You can have one of your senses supercharged to a far higher capacity than is possible with us humans. Which do you choose?? How would you use this new power?

Personally as an artist I'd definitely choose sight. I was looking out the window today at the distant mountains and I thought to myself how much beautiful detail I was missing out on, how short-sighted and blind I am. I can only see a tiny fraction of the colour spectrum. That's what inspired me to make this thread! :)

Which do you choose? If I've missed anything out, ask and I'll add it :)

EDIT:

Probably equilibrium. Means I could pull off all sorts of crazy stuff while still keeping my balance. Also I wonder how a super-sensitised proprioception would work?

Because there's actually more than five senses.
Well, I thought of proprioception, but couldn't think of a way to apply it to this concept :p

Super enhanced awareness of where one's body is? Actually, if you could train and use that you could possibly be an incredible fighter. Thats AWESOME. I'm putting it in!

Also, as to the rules behind the super-sensitising, it cannot be to the extent that basic actions or common stimuli (such as sunlight) can cause you pain or incapacitate you. When you think of sight, think of having an eagle's eyes. Smell, think of having a wolf's nose. Touch, think of hypersensitivity, even to the extent you can feel fluctuations in the atmosphere around you, but not to the extent that the smallest amount of pain will incapacitate you.

well... having oversensitive senses in any sense would suck. i'll go for none of the above.

EDIT: unless it came with the ability to adjust the sensitivity at will. then i guess hearing.

Sight. It sure would help with target shooting (not that I suck or anything, but there is always room for improvement).

Sight. Cause any other one would suck, as in lead to pain.

Even at it's worst sight just means you wouldn't go out in the daytime.

Touch. Why? Everything would feel cooler I guess. (Or I everything will be more painful)

I'm gonna say sight. Being able to see great distances and focus on small details seems pretty sweet. And I'd have an excuse to wear sunglasses all the time...

Sixth sense *trollface* I wanna be a psychic!

But in all seriousness, CannibalRobots has the right idea (Wow, never thought I'd ever say that). Wolverine proves the rule that super sense of smell is impossibly useful.

Enhanced proprioception would be nice.

Really though, the devil is in the details. Increased sensitivity comes with all sorts of potential drawbacks.

Depends on how sensitive we're talking. Can I determine identity of an individual by smell? Can I taste every ingredient in the food I'm eating? Can I read from across the room? Or do I get sharingan? Can I hear both sides of a phone conversation from a different room? Is my sense of touch so heightened that I can follow someone by feeling the eddy they leave in the air, or even "see" what people are doing behind me?

I would probably choose olfactory, because id'ing people by smell would be so cool, as would telling mood by scent. If it's not that big of an increase, I would choose hearing or sight. If it's an even bigger increase(like above), then I would choose touch.

If I could adjust the scale at which the 'sense' could be felt, it would have to be Touch.

Reason? You can feel many things by touching. Touching would be ones sight, just as a Bat's ears are its eyes, my skin would act so as well, the skin is the largest organ of a human after all, thus has the largest potential, but I suppose the largest drawback.

I go with touch IF it works the way THE-MAN(c) tells us it does in DareDevil, increasing both speed and strength.

Sight because I hate wearing my glasses so it's an easy fix for my eyes xD
Same goes for me!

Although, having better hearing would be awesome!

It's between smell and sight. Smell is always awesome, but you can do some funky things with improved visual senses. Ever wonder why flies are a ***** to swat? They practically have sharingan!

Prolly olfactory if I get a pretty big increase. If I can id people and emotions by scent. If it's stronger than that, I pick touch, cuz following people by disturbances in the air, or "seeing" behind you by feeling the changes in air flow, would be awesome. If it's only a minor increase than I would pick sight.

none of the above!err, would this be under sight...hmm...anyway,i'd personally like to be able to control my perception of time like the characters in Wanted can.no i wouldn't be able to dodge bullets like in The Matrix, but if i can see it sooner,i can react sooner
