RPGs, do MMOs count as well? I'm sure the artificial human contact would stop me from going mad and writing messages in coconut milk.

Can I have some food and water too? Wait, no. Can I have some food and coke too?

Survival Horror. But out of the options given, sandbox.

What if it's a crossover game, like an FPSRPG? Do both FPS people and RPG people get those games?

Does this magical console made of puppies and virgins have an internet connection?

If so, FPS is the genre with the most longevity. There is an endless amount of entertainment in online FPS.

If there is no internet on the magical console made of puppies and virgins, then RPGs have the most replay value. I'm still playing Mass Effect almost every day, and still adore it.

I'm with OP on this one (J)RPG's because that's the longest running game type and the most immersive to get your mind off the situation.

I'd pick RPG, because once I got bored of them I could just make a raft out of all of the Final Fantasy games.

I'd take the RPG genre. They tend to have the longest play times, some have very high replayability, and there is almost a guarantee of a good story.

Sandbox. Why go get all gritty on the beach when I can do the same virtually?

All the fun of sand in various uncomfortable places, none of the mess.

I would bring a sandbox game not because i like them but because of sheer annoyance that the locals wouldn't have a console to play them on WHICH HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE GAME CHOICE!!!!!

RTS is the home to Age of Empires, Age of Mythology, and Starcraft, all of which I've never gotten tired of in all the years they've been out.

To me, RTS has the greatest replayability of all the genres because of the shear amount of unit types and map edits. I'm not sure about the other RTS games, but among the three I've mentioned, you will never play the same game twice.
