I have enough guns, and why would I risk taking home what could have been a murder weapon?

I'd take it and wouldn't use it unless I had to. Unless I detect that it's been used recently. Then I would call the police.

I'd keep it and just mess around with it. No clip in of course. Unless it seemed suspicious. How i would determine that is beyond me.

Put it in the mailbox. I bet someone at the post office would be really happy.
Win.

OT: What kinda question is that? You obvious disassemble, take the parts to a local gun shop, turn it in and say you found it on the road and hope no one asks you any questions.

Take it, file off serial numbers. Strip gun, check for damage, inspect it thoroughly, clean, put back together.

If it checks out, then I'll take it to the range to test fire before actually using it myself.

I'll take the gun and it'll say
[HEADING=1]"Happy 1000th Post"[/HEADING]

Or you know... take it or throw it out.

Somewhere between call the police and ignore it, leaving it where it is.

Guns aren't exactly legal where I am, so I suspect any pistol I find is going to have been involved in some kind of crime, which I would rather not get myself into by poking at something I find by the side of the road.

First I would call the police. Then, I would not touch it, nor let anyone I am with touch it.

I live in Norway, where you can't normally purchase a handgun, so it would be a really, really rare chance to get my hands on a handgun.

I'd take it home, take out the bullets, and most likely store in on the attic or something.

Take it out a few times a year and look at it, and maybe fire a round or two at some remote location.
Thought I might have to get a reloader, since I can't legally buy ammo for it.

Check to make sure I have room in my inventory. It could be worth a couple of caps at least.
Hehe, nice one.

Guns in the UK are a strict liability. Even if I took it straight to a police station and handed it in, I would be arrested and likely charged for carrying a firearm. So no, I wouldn't touch the damn thing.

Call the police and say someone broke into my room and left a gun. Then wait for them to arrive and hopefully identify the owner by finger prints or serial number and arrest his ass for breaking into my room.

I'd call the cops and turn it in. I'd stand by it until they got there though, I wouldn't want anyone running off with it. Besides, I'm more of a rifle guy myself.

My wife actually found a gun wedged between our fence post and the picket. It was quite rusted, and its grip pads had been removed so it was just the metal frame. We called the police right away. No bullets in it.
