Okay, this is something I take illogically personally but...

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A "GREY SIDE OF THE FORCE". IT DOESN'T WORK LIKE THAT.

Using the Dark Side isn't just like casting with mana or whatever. It's a deal with the Devil. It tricks you, corrupts you, makes you think you're in control while slowly taking control itself. You can't just "decide" not to fall to the Dark Side. Tons of Jedi tried that already. Guess what? It didn't work. You don't use the Dark Side. It uses you.

Anyone who wants to be a "Grey Jedi" wants to be a super-special snowflake who's a good guy but with all the super-awesome Dark Side powers.

*Takes a deep breath*

Sorry. This pops up a lot in Star Wars fandom. I probably take it way too seriously.

I'm totally cool with you, Bro!!! ^_^

I grok your recognition that it is foolish to misinterpret that approaching the Dark Side is anything but equivalent to saying "Jay Walking" does not lead to "Baby Eating". That was the point of the second option--descending into the Dark Side wipes away the positive characteristics.

Yet--and I'm working with you here--the very point of Luke's epiphany was that there was an inherent "Grey" area where emotions involving The Force were involved.

Did you miss my point about Darth Sidious kicking Yoda's ass while cackling like a cliched bad guy? :)

Number 3 with the light side.

While the Jedi have a very strict code, I believe that I can follow it and rise through the ranks.
If I know anything is that there will be war, very violent war. With that I'll be a good guy and all, keep rising until I gain the rank of Grand Master!

Or whatever.
If I have learnt anything from the KOTOR and Jedi Knight series, is that you don't have to be good to use good powers or dark to us dark powers. I could be a Jedi who could shock the Sith~!
Of course with that power would be the ever presence of temptation to the Dark Side.

Still, I would be a badass Jedi Guardian with double green lightsabers and with force lightning.

As for the first question.
1. Okay, if I was the only force user, I would easily become a hero. With others I am sure we could make the Jedi Orders ... of course the sith would be made as well and war would happen. :(

As much as I'd prefer being Light Side I know that I'd eventually fall.
Fall deep and hard.

SO I might as well be honest with myself and dive straight into the black robes and lightning immediately ^_^

Maybe I'll tempt some of the many "gray" Jedi, maybe I'll provoke a war with the true Jedi.
Most likely I'll just finally give in and willingly lose the war I fight with my emotions. Just let them guide me to a very bloody and quick but satisfying end.

I'd make a bad Jedi anyway. I try to control them but my emotions always end up beating me eventually. I honestly have no idea how people can control the damn things.
Kind of been a dream of mine for a long time to just let go and give in. If I get to do with some bitchin' powers and a nice evil laugh thats even better.

Yeah that sounds like total bullshit, being gray (as i understood it from Kotor since i don't read any EU novels) was about accepting the truth that no code could encompass all things and so strictly adhering to a code would make you stagnate and listening only to your emotions would get you in to trouble just as fast.

In that sense it's much like agnosticism, You understand that the force is there, that it's binding and powerful and in all thing but it doesn't mean you understand it any better than anyone else.

It's much like what movie bob contented was the actual arc of the prequel movies. There is no destiny, no right path, no one true prophecy, and that's what Luke did right in not following some rigid plan of destiny.

Least that's my own thoughts on it. Gray for life if only because "There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,
Than are dreamt of in your philosophy."

Other. I would mostly use my powers for my own amusement, caring neither for the overblown theatrics of the dark side nor the hero complex of the light.

My chief goal would be neither saving the universe, nor setting it on fire. It would be using force-pull to reach the marshmallows.
