If Skyrim actually lives up to all these expectations (and jesus, these are some high expectations. I would've figured WRPG fans would be more cynical than most), than it'll grab the most.

Portal 2 has a pretty damn good shot, as it turned out even better than most people could've ever imagined.

I think that Call of Duty will likely see little to no love at the awards shows this year, because it is the most universally reviled franchise in video game history, especially among the people who actually care about game of the year awards shows. It's a shame, really. Call of Duty is underrated. It isn't as bad as everybody in the world makes it out to be.

2011's been a pretty weak year overall, with Portal 2 and Deus Ex: Human Revolution being the only high-profile awards-show bait so far. Other than those, Gears of War 3, Resistance 3, Uncharted 3, Batman: Arkham City and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will be the games people are talking about at award season. I doubt we'll be having another year as good as 2009 anytime soon.

I'd pretty much agree with that summary (well, I didn't think 2009 was as great as it's often called, but whatever). I voted for Skyrim, just because of the hype it's getting. It seems with something like that, regardless of the quality, it'll receive a lot praise with very little criticism (see MW2, not that it was all that terrible, but no review I read, other than ZP, pointed out the glaringly obvious flaws). Uncharted 3 will get most of the "PlayStation-exclusive" GOTYs (which isn't entirely undeserved, although I'd have picked inFamous 2 and I'll be disappointed if LBP2 doesn't get anything either) and Gears 3 will get the 360 ones (there isn't a lot to choose from). Bastion'll get "Best Indie" as well.

Human Revolution, though I'm probably confusing my (highly probable) GOTY with what gaming sites would award it to. Then again, largely improving Deus fucking Ex is quite the feat.

Skyrim, unless it's really buggy (even by Bethesda standards), is probably gonna get the most, though.

Still haven't got my copy of deus ex(deliver 1 day before release, my ass! T.T") but I would say it´s either that or Skyrim.
