True immortality isn't about living forever. It's about what you do with the time you have.

How about constant magical healing? As in The Age of Five. Or was it The Power of Five? There were five of them, at least.

[sub]Someone must have heard of that series.[/sub]

well all but the magic potion theres probably some catch to that one

but all of these have setbacks downloading your brain into a computer is nice but if the computor crashes then youll fall into oblivion unless you have copies.

mechanical augmentation would mean that eventually you will be an android and be the same thing as the computer.

and I dont really know what external intervention could possibly be since it could be anything

but to go with one I guess the computor one because then I could upload myself into an android body use tht to send a virus world wide and and put my conciousness into every mechanical device in the world!

Immortality through sheer willpower: I chose not to age, chose not to die and stay alive. Has the advantage of me not living into the "age of regret" i can die whenever i want, but can live a million (or more) years of happiness with no bad effects (Can chose to stay vital, delete my own memories if it gets crowded up in there and so on)

Special Items, I think it would be the simplest method possible. But it would be very bad if you're the type of person who leaves their car keys in mysterious places..

Magic potion. Sounds like the least complicated, and doesn't involve having to carry anything around that can get lost/stolen, so I can keep my eternal lifespan! Unless constant instantaneous cellular regeneration is an option. But I think that might count as invincibility as well...

Think of a sillier method of the "Download your brain to a computer" thing, I.E. putting it (and its spinal column and eyes) in a jar and commanding a legion of people to go out and find someone really healthy and really strong and maybe grab a few extra internal organs if desired, kill em, chop off their head and carefully wire me to their spinal column/nervous system etc. through the wonders of Deus Ex Silly 50's era sci-fi writing and then making sure my optic nerves are tight before putting a dome over my head and then hollowing out a shapely head, putting it over the jar/dome/whatever and sliding it on and then stitching it or grafting it so that it appears that I have a regular human head. Once that body is done, detach me, refill me Deus Ex Brain perservation Juice and then repeat. I might also change sexes awhile to keep some variety.

I also thought maybe I could do the thing they did in "Blood Diner" (If you like shitty but hilarious movies, WATCH THIS. ITS HILARIOUS.) as well, it starts off the same way (I.E. my brain, eyes, and a little bit of spinal column are in a jar) and then start harvesting body parts and virgins so that I can resurrect an ancient goddess through a violent orgy who would in turn give me a body in return.

Yeah, I really like shitty sci-fi/horror brain stories :3

Computer Upload, so that A: I can expand my mind and comprehension beyond a physical brain (If I run out of space, I can just "find" more RAM and hard drive space) and B: I can create multiple runtimes of myself, allowing me to confer in a council (And be able to say "We are Mray") with myself, and probably make smarter choices for it, before merging the runtimes together to form myself in my entirety again (Also allows me to procreate, creating a second program based off of myself, possibly combined with the better aspects of another uploaded entity).

Edit: Also, I can always be transferred to another device if my current one becomes to dangerous/becomes inoperable, whereas all the other ones are relient on a single body. And then there's the idea of backing myself up on multiple servers so that if I ever do get deleted, I'll be automatically turned on in another machine with knowledge up to an hour before my deletion (possibly sooner).

genetic augmentation and a increased healing factor, stay young forever and heal everything else like limbs or organs
