ram: 4gb
hdd: 1x 500gb & 2x 250gb

currently have a compaq lappy with 2gb ram, core 2 duo intel processor, gma chipset 950 graphics.... (I was surprised world in conflict ran on it)

But 1/2 through building a gaming PC.

PS: it's a matter of opinion, but i'd say duo.

I'm sticking with Duo for now, I just can't find enough options that are fully Quad supported to justify the extra expense on a Quad-core processor.

Duo lappy, a Dell Inspiron 1525 with some modifications. Nothing too snazy, but it lets me play my games.

Well, there's the hard drive, a video card, and Hey! I think there might even be a sound card in there, too!

I should know what I have, considering all of the computer science I used to study. However, as the technology got more efficient, I realized how much that I needed to know and I got lazy and stopped caring. I can build IDE computers from parts, and have about enough spare parts build roughly six extra computers that would have been impressive in 1983, but now are just parts taking up space. One of my computer science friends told me that the format switched to something new other than IDE, but I don't have time to look into it. That's why I have computer science friends.

And I'm still happy with it.

Lol, u hav a better version of my computer.
Your running Vista Ultimate on 2.8ghz quad processor.
Im running it on 2.8 duo.

You have 4gb of RAM. I have two.

Im not up to date with radeon graphics cards, but im sure its pretty good to be in your computer. I have an Nvidia 9600 GEforce graphics card...i believe.

I have a 500GB HDD. You have added two 250's.
Lol, couple upgrades and Ill be up to your level, altho i feel that my computer does more than get the job done. :)

I've got Quad because because this particular computer was a damn good deal. I always presumed quad was better because obviously Duel = 2 and Quad = 4, but after looking at this I'm not sure :S

Can some kind soul explain the difference to this computer illiterate dumb dumb?

AMD 6000+ dual-core at 3 GHz
4 gb OCZ Gold RAM
SLI 8800 gt overclocked graphics cards
Windows XP Pro
1x 160gb hdd, 2x 750 gb hdd

Absolutely rocks my socks off for gaming . . . I'm working on upgrading the processor, although that may be a while.
