Where do you prefer to be? Is it the tropical jungles filled with exotic beasts? Or maybe the quiet sands of the desert? Some like it deep in the shadows of sub terrain passages. And other take it to the skies!
My personal favorite is an oasis type (Preferably with ancient ruins) or the infernal/hell level.

So, tell me, where do you like to go sightseeing in your games? :D

When I play Battlefield: BC2, my favourite maps are the desert ones. Africa Harbour, specifically, is my fav. Atacama, too.
Jungle and Snow maps are nice, too, but something about the desert maps just gets me psyched.

Actually, now that I think about it, Halo is the same. Sandtrap was my favourite map of Halo 3, and Boneyard my favourite of Reach.
Huh... I learned something about myself today. I like desert maps!

Why limit a game to only one environment? Variety is the spice of life, but if I had to pick one, it would be a rainy jungle. Rain makes fights just so much more epic IMO

Give me a cool dungeon or ancient ruin and I'm a happy camper.

But only if it's interesting. If it's just some dank-looking room with no thought put into it it's often my LEAST favourite environment.

I like the psychedelic environments featured in the final level of Brawl's Subspace Emissary, and F-Zero GX's final story mission. Evil castles (see Paper Mario 64 and The Thousand Year Door, and Super Mario Bros.) also rock, especially if they have lava.

I love forests both in real life and in games, probably because I spent so much of my childhood hiking and camping in the Rocky Mountains.

Very few games get forests right but when they do it's almost always guaranteed to be one of my favourite segments of the game.

By a bazillion miles I prefer society settings. Games that are just primitive dungeon crawling level design are a bane on the medium.

urban cause in AC games it provides so many options for game play manuevers and so many vantage points to just shoot or survey, or even hop down and stab guards with hidden blades

I like a combination of environments. I like underground areas in high up mountainous areas or ancient ruins. Of course, it really depends on how well the environment was created. It would really need some kind of large, breath-taking area to draw your attention as well as claustrophobic areas to contrast and amplify the feeling from either environments.
