Poll: Your Favorite Resident Evil Game and Why?

RE2 was my fav cos it balenced survival horror and Action so well, i think that RE4 was a good game but not a good resident evil game.

Nothing will beat playing the first Resident Evil on the Playstation, its a shame I couldn't pick two though because I have extremely fond memories of RE3 on my Dreamcast.

Granted, I'm not terribly offended by the races of the infected themselves, but rather how it reminds me of Capcom's lack of collective testicular fortitude.

I haven't beat a RE yet, but I've played REmake (RE1 for Gamecube), RE4, and RE5. So far, REmake has it for me. It's simply... frightening. Maybe crying over the ending of Twilight Princess proved I am a ***** and took away the last of my detachment, or maybe REmake just has good atmosphere. I honestly don't know.

Haven't played any. I'd like to, but I have a quirk that whenever I get into something, I like to understand the full story and plot, which often involves getting every DVD or game or book in a series so I can play through/read/watch all of them and understand everything. Must be the writer in me. But yeah, I was too young to be into RE when it first came out, so if I played any of the games now I would feel a need to buy all of them, which would possibly be worth it but would also set me back a lot of money and a lot of time, neither of which I have in abundance right now. So yeah.

I've seen the three films though, which I consider to be a completely alternate continuity of the same series. Absolutely love them, they are (to me) examples of videogame movies done right, and I have them on DVD. Though they may not be the strongest films plotwise, they're still good, and great for some gory silly zombie fun. I have to say, I am definitely looking forward to Afterlife right now...

I'm gonna have to go with 4.
Played 5 recently, but the game just lacked character. The guns especially. For me, they weren't even satisfying to use (a big step down from 4).
Also, give me back my attache case please.

I enjoyed RE:0, and code veronica, i like the whole leechs thing and the atomsphere of it all, and code veronica's Alfred/Alexia twistedness.

Resident Evil 3, I like the Mercenaries minigame where you could earn money to buy upgrades for the main game. That and pimp slapping the Big Bad with a rail gun.
