V from V for Vendetta, though he has no real 'powers',and whether he's even morally correct in his venture is deliberately left ambiguous, for the reader to decide. But that's one of the things I like about him. Also, hormonal testing gave him super reflexes, enhanced strength, agility, etc.,made him a genius, and he wears a smiling mask and uses knives.Hell yeah.

Iron Man isn't a Super Hero. He's a vigilante who joined The Avengers. He has no powers.
Same goes with Batman. Excepting the Avengers thing.

Superman isn't a Super Hero. He's god. The only thing he can't do is anything he hasn't tried yet.

Wolverine isn't a Super Hero. He's a mutant, and an X-man. What he does doesn't follow the archetype of how super hero's function.

Polls for these are terrible, it's always too limiting.

As far as the people who do follow the archetype? Captain America.....Or Thor.
well if your going to be that way Captain America doesn't have a power either since his thing is that hes the peak of human possibility so he really can't do anything a exceptional human couldn't do. Also thor isn't either since hes a god and what you would call powers aren't powers to him its just how he is, to him anyone else that does anything he can't is a super powered person.

Although he's not really a superhero, I'll vote Batman. I like that he isn't super powered to be honest, it makes him entirely about skill. Whether it's generally outsmarting his opponent or inventing some kind of crazy gadget, he's his own super power. It's also the reason I love The Punisher, except he's more about outgunning than outsmarting.

I am the same way batman and punisher are my fav's

Deadpool forever. He is so badass he went on adventures with his own zombie head. I also like Jubilee for some reason.

Hard to say, since I like so many... I'm going with Batman/Superman/Spiderman/Captain America/Wolverine/The Flash to begin with...

Batman. Wrote a song inspired by him, even.

Also, Deadpool...

Batman fighting Deadpool needs to happen at some point!

I've always loved Nightcrawler and Gambit.

Teleporting is bad ass, and with Gambit, everything is a weapon.

I strongly disagree with a lot of this, as I said in the Batman thread there is no real uniform consensus on whether superheroes require powers.

Regardless Tony Stark has been a meta-human for a while with nano-bots, extremis armor and other stuff that makes him more than just a human in a suit. He's also far smarter than any normal human being up there with people like Reed Richards and Hank Pym.

Superman's not god. Flash is. But seriously he's certainly powerful but he has many weaknesses (magic, red sunlight and of course kryptonite), as well as peers and enemies of equal (Wonderwoman, Captain Marvel, Martian Manhunter, Darkseid) or greater powersets (seriously the Flash). Anyway Super-heroes as modern gods has often been a theme of many comics (for Example Morrison's run on the JLA).

Wolverine has served on two avengers teams. The X-men are except for brief stints of paramilitary organisation been primarily superheroes. Funnily enough Captain America is the character they most often try to explain as only being Human, though I agree it's nearly impossible for anyone to be like him and he is a real superhero.

Gotta be The Flash.

Not only because he's just a great guy (he was always my favorite character in the Justice League cartoon), but because he's probably the most OP superhero in the history of ever. Yes, even more so than Superman.

Let's review. He can move so fast that he can travel through time, he can vibrate his atoms to pass through solid objects, make said objects EXPLODE if he so chooses, and he can punch you 1000 times before you can blink.

The only reason he DOESN'T do these things on a regular basis is because if he did, he's probably kill everyone he comes into contact with.
Once he hits the speed of light, the energy imparted by the Speedforce turns into mass. He can actually hit someone with the weight of a universe. It's ridiculous.

The Hulk!

Yeah, he's more of a force of nature than a hero. But hear me out.

Take Superman. The last son of Krypton, delivered to a humble family and raised to be goodness personified, a living symbol of what mankind can aspire to be.

Now take the Hulk. A creation of mankind's mistakes, sympathetic but dangerous, tragic and flawed. He can be every bit as dangerous and destructive as the forces that oppose him.

Superman is God. He comes down from the heavens to deliver us from evil. His power is almost absolute and he will never faulter in his duty.

The Hulk is defiance. He is mankind raging against everything that tries to hurt it. He will not be defeated, he will not be stopped, he will fight harder and harder until he finally has peace. And while that force can be dangerous, he is balanced by the other side of humanity: Bruce Banner, who like the Hulk is a tragic figure, flawed, but ultimately only wanting peace.

And as flawed as he is, I would rather have the Hulk than Superman. Strange as it sounds we can learn something from Hulk's defiance, we can see ourselves reflected in his rage and know we are flawed, but can also be a force for good. Superman may be a symbol of good, but we have yet to learn any real lesson from him other than the belief that he will always be there to save the day for us.
If I may offer you a counterpoint far more eloquent than anything I might write.

Spiderman, because I love spiders and I like the powers he has as well as the design. Prefer Batman's story and villains though (even though Carnage kicks ass).

What is your favorite superhero and why? Just wanted to know your favorite superheros I personally prefer Batman because he is just a normal guy without any superpowers but still can kick ass.
Makes me wonder why they call him a super hero at all.

I've had numerous dreams of web-slinging around a city, and they're the best dreams I ever remember having.

Spidey all the way. He cracks jokes in the middle of fights, his speed is elegant and precise and he hits like a truck. If it wasn't for the fact that I can't use him for shit in Marvel vs Capcom 3, he'd be in my team all the time. I also think he's the hero I can most relate to.

With great power, comes a great beatdown great responsibility.
I wish I didn't suck with Spiderman too in Marvel vs Capcom 3. He's my favorite superhero, but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't use him!

Ghost Rider 2099, followed by Venom.

I like flawed characters who don't pretend to know how to set the world straight, but fight for and with disadvantaged people. Of the list I take Wolverine.

What I posted in a previous thread, my 5 (or 7) favourite superheroes are:

5. Ares - from the Marvel, he's hillariously awesome, as Carol Danvers sums up "a Thor and Wolverine" combination. Much humour is derived from his overt sexism and constant reassurances that he is a god. I love the way he doesn't have flght ability rather relying on riding things into battle like the nose of a Jet or a bunker buster. Also a rare example of a good single parent in comics.

4. Aztek - from DC, he didn't have much of a run between his miniseries and JLA, but there's something so charming about this idealisticlly good and socally naive superhero stuck in the Dark Age of comicbooks. Great costume too.

3. It's a hard choice between Jack Hawksmoor and the Midnighter from the Authority, the former has an amazingly cool power (god of cities ftw) and someone great moments, but the latter wins out. Basically on paper a sociopathic gay supersoldier batman, but despite how much he insists he's the biggest basterd on the planet, his love for his husband and adopted daughter is genuinely heartwarming. This with how protective of children (even baby hitler) he is, shows deep down he's a big softy. Also he's played out this battle in his head a million times.

2. Nova and Starlord - these two are very much linked, two of the best characters to come from the revival of Marvel's cosmic line. They've matured vastly too. Nova was practically Kyle Rayner (but 20years earlier) a young teenager who becomes a space cop. He spent a lot of time in limbo but recently has been forged through the fires of vast intergalactic war into a quietly confident leader and one of the most powerful heroes in the Marvel universe. Greatest moment was when he bascially told Tony Stark post civil war to go eff himself. Starlord is basically two parts Hansolo to one part Batman. In the same recent conflicts he went from washed up superhero to the often underlooked protector of the universe. Keeping up in a setting where there's multiple cosmic beings that rival or excell Superman levels as a powerless human takes a quick wit and massive balls. Both have fantastic new costumes too.

1. Cable - yeah so feel free to mock but I grew up in the 90s and his was my favourite comic. Cable and Deadpool was the series that got me back to comics as an adult. He's straight up badass and when in the hands of a good writer (Niceza, Carey, Tischman, Macan) a very interesting character.

The Incredible Hulk. He is THE strongest, no contest. I mean, for fuck's sake, he punched an asteroid in half, among other impossible feats.

Plus, I still maintain he'd fuck over Superman in terms of sheer strength.

Spiderman. I just found him so relatable that it grew on me. Also, he had human weaknesses like feelings and such unlike what my interpretation of Superman.

I have to go with the Spider-man; he brought me into the world of comics, is a hero I can relate to most, and I will always had a soft spot for the guy.

Second place is a tie between Power Girl, Machine Man, Rorschach, Deadpool, Hank Pym and Eric O'Grady (both wore Ant Man costumes).

Generally, I like superheroes that somehow stand out from the rest, and have to deal with their weakness (I am more of a Marvel guy)*.

I said that I am more of a marvel guy, but when it comes to teams, I really enjooy DC stuff - unfortunately any of them I pick up and enjoy ends up cancelled: Secret Six (RIP), Doom Patrol (RIP), Metal Men (RIP), Deamon Knights (Hopefully they will last a while), and also Nextwave, from Marvel. God, I love Nextwave! I wish I would have a time to reread it...

About Batman: I just have hard time believing that Bruce Wayne has no superpowers. Come on, he can pull off managing his company, building gadgets, fighting super villains, investigations, being a leader of JLA, fathering Robin, getting multiple college degrees, becoming an expert tactician and martial artist. And people say Batman is one of the most "realistic" heroes. I do not think Bat is any more realistic than Superman or Flash, he is as much of a stretch as those two, but in different aspects. I still like all three of them and do not try to attack any - just saying what are my thoughts on Bat-realism.
