Poll: Your Favorite Variety of Sword In Gaming

What do I mean? Well here is the rundown:

Curved: Katanas, scimitars, falchions and the like.
Thrusting Swords: Rapiers and the like.
Shortswords
Longswords
Greatswords
If something else, please explain.

I love greatswords. Whenever I play a fantasy game greatswords are my weapons of choice.

Greatswords, because few things are more satisfying than stabbing people with a giant, sharpened phallus, and greatswords are the biggest of them all and therefore the most satisfying.

Okay, seriously, I think scimitars look kind of badass.

Come to think of it, most swords in actual games look ridiculous. Oversized, over-designed cosplay props that nobody in their right mind would ever take into an actual fight.

The great sword is always fun for just smashing and crashing.

But there's something about the Katana (Maybe me love for Japanese games) that hits my mind whenever I think sword.

Special mention goes to the chainsword.

Swords of the Big Fucking kind are always nice. Other than that, Longswords and Scimitars are the way to go for me

I like curved swords and I like greatswords but I like curved greatswords even more. Although to be honest I think axes > swords, but that's just me.

Curved, because they are allegedly easier to learn when it comes to how to slash with them from horseback, you can twist them from binding to make a counter and they might be easier to get around shields.

...in gaming you say? Whatever makes the most sense and translates properly into gameplay.

it prefer it one-handed and.. just real. Certainly no surfboards like most of this crap. The swords of Skyrim's Blades were nice.

Two blades, preferably both Longswords. Its a game, I don't care how realistic it is to be able to rapidly swing one in each hand, I like doing it.
Screw defence, run in, hit hard and hit fast, kill enemy, repeat as much as is necessary. Dual Blades is automatically badass anyway, and looks amazing if done well.
