lurching slow zombies easier to shoot and you really could just hold off a doorway with a long pointy stick(jk) giggty..

Accountants. They are the worst kind of zombies!

Seriously, the slow zombies that complete surround you on all sides with a huge horde and then slowly move in as you desperately try to blow all their heads off before you are overwhelmed.

the fast zombies. It is easy to just shoot zombie slowly walking towards, but when it maneuvers and runs around you every bullet counts (See L4D)

Cursed, reanimated zombies, 'cos they are true walking undead, none of this virus crap where the zombies are alive but without a mind, proper undead corpses intent on killing you. Siren Blood Curse ftw!

I like the ones that appear only "When Hell is Full the Dead Will Walk the Earth". They are just more fun.

I'm torn between choices 2 and 3. Magical, conjured zombies are usually the stereotypical type (that irritating moaning noise, slowly loping forward with both arms out in front and one foot being dragged behind, hungry for brains, has the reflexes of a corpse with rigor mortis... you get the idea), but a necromancer suddenly raising a massive army of corpses with a flick of the wrist seems kind of appealling to me; but the fast-moving ones are actually dangerous enough to be worth fearing (typical scenario with the slow guys: you feel afraid for a moment because a fucking CORPSE is walking at you, but that quickly turns into laughter because you can drag your entire body with one arm and still outrun them).

the fast moving zombies to me actually propose a threat rather then the slow moving ones. how those guys ever took over the world in Resi Extinction is beyond me

Bah, the original mythological term for a zombie was for a reanimated corpse that served the one who reanimated it. None of that infected bullshit. Call me old school, but none of the current "breeds" really classify as zombies at all...

Also, Systemshock 2 and Half Life did space zombies first. And if you want you can count the Xenomorphs and maybe the Goa'ul as space zombies.
That's what the slow ones want you to think, then you'll let your guard down when you think you've gotten away.

I favour the old shambling horde.
These infected fast zombies remind to much of druggies, hyped up on Speed with a touch of MJ for the munchies.

Oh crap, I actually forgot about those SS and HL, silly me. Thanks for reminding me actually.
Actually, Event Horizon (film with Laurence Fishburne) did space zombies a year before Half-Life came out.
And for the record, I have to respect the original, lurching zombies... but Left 4 Dead just makes the mutants so much more fun.
