You got your facts wrong The Ottoman Empire formed from the east Roman empire after it collapsed and never gained the size the old roman empire had at its peak. More then 70% of the Ottoman empire was roman land. The size you reported must be lumping the Safavid and or the Martha empire into it as a larger Muslim empire even though they were often at odds because they practiced different sects of Islam.ShockValue said:I am disappointed by the lack of the Roman Empire.
Yes. Many.UtopiaV1 said:Too small to make the cut, at a mere 2.2m sq miles! ¬_¬norwegian-guy said:Where's the roman?
There's gonna be a lot of these comments, isn't there?
This. However, when it comes to our solar system I have to give the German Empire (1871?1918) some credit. Zeppelins, a fleet significant enough to challenge the British and some of the best soldiers in history. Not to mention the Red Baron. Or the fact it took 4 nations to take it down, one of which they forced to quit.Treefingers said:

I am sorry OP, but this wins. By far. Very far.Treefingers said:
What he said. The influence of the British Empire on the past 100 years in enormous, probably a close second to the Romans. And since the Romans aren't a choice, patriotism wins out.Daystar Clarion said:As a British man, I'm obliged to pick the best one.
