A butterfly you say, how befuddling. In all seriousness, I never saw the point of a balisong, they're showy, sure, but, they're awkward as hell to use, it's dificult to adjust your grip rapidly, and if you're in the middle of an adrenaline rush, most are good and truly screwed. Additionally some states require a second carry conceal permit for the blade, and some just outlaw them entirely.Malevolent Stranger said:Other. I keep a butterfly and a .44 and 30 odd rounds on me at all times.. Nuff said.

People bragging about how bad arse they think they are.
I've had some training in Ha Mu Do, Aikido(?) and Judo. Then, people have given me tips/tried to teach me about Karate and Jujitsu. Added to that, I also fence. The Dr Jack said:Which Arts have you trained in?ThreeWords said:I'm a sneaky bastard who uses a mangled cross-breed of martial arts, infused with surprising strength and inbuilt brutality and inventive evil. you know. both hand on sword. the most common is the fencing stance. you can also find someone who is trying to learn the samurai art using the two handed stance. turns out that if you hold the sword with both hands holding the sword in defferent directions the speed seems to increase when you use abit of a wild style of fighting. seems that i know more about japan then i thought.Nutcase said:I can't wait to hear what "japanese stance" is.ddon said:martial arts. im pretty good when using a sword in the japanese stance.
I found a helpful picture of some people who seem to be learning the samurai art in japanese stance. Not sure if they are fighting a bit wildly as well.ddon said:you know. both hand on sword. the most common is the fencing stance. you can also find someone who is trying to learn the samurai art using the two handed stance. turns out that if you hold the sword with both hands holding the sword in defferent directions the speed seems to increase when you use abit of a wild style of fighting. seems that i know more about japan then i thought.Nutcase said:I can't wait to hear what "japanese stance" is.ddon said:martial arts. im pretty good when using a sword in the japanese stance.

i had stopped. i was bored of this discussion. The Dr Jack said:If you don't really fight anyway, then you don't really know how you fight. Just stop now.
This is harsh, but in my earlier post I described why people talking about things they know nothing about irritates me.
