I played the original Doom when I was like 11 years old.
And I loved every second of it.

Same here, except I was 8. My babysitter's kids were playing Mortal Kombat at that time and they were 6 and 4. I remember even back then thinking that was a little fucked up, but I fucking loved Doom and Wolf3D. Somewhere I have a fan letter that I wrote (never sent) to iD software when I was 9.

EDIT: For the record, never had a history of violence or psychotic behavior. SUCK ON THAT, MEDIA MATTERS GROUP!

My first M game was actually before the rating system, but it consistently gets an M today: Wolfenstein 3D. I was 3. I died. A lot.

Wolfenstein 3D..... But it technically didn't have a rating on it yet, so the first one that had a rating on it: Twisted Metal 2.

EDIT: Oh, I should mention I was 5 when I bagged my first Nazi in Wolf3D. I'll never forget the unrelenting joy I felt hearing him scream in pain. R.I.P(ieces) brown coated guard.

For the first one I played myself, it was Haunting Ground, which I played when I was about 13.

But I did watch my dad play a TON of M rated games from the age of 4. Actually, it was all he played. xD So blood and gore and M ratings have never phased me.

I can't remember the first M rated game I played, but I do know that I wasen't 18.

Alot of people ignore the whole 18+ on the box so i was just wondering when was your 1st rated M game and were you legaly allowed to play it. A bunch of my little brothers friends who r in 6th grade play like GTA so i just wanted to know.

Lol I love how people say whether it was illegal or legal that you were playing it. Not like the po po is gonna get you if you play COD MW2 when your 13, although online multiplayer would be much more enjoyable if they did.
But my first M game is a tough one. Probably something for the Super Nintendo, if not maybe turok on the N 64, Turok came out in 96 I think so I was probably about 5.

Turok: Dinosaur Hunter (which was rated 15) for my N64, I believe. I was 9 or 10. I had to turn blood effects off, although I always put them on when no one was watching.

Now I go out killing regularly.

In U.S.A. M rated games are 17+ not 18+.

But my first M rated game was Halo 3 and I was under 17.

In America you can play M rated games at any age, you just can't buy them under the legal limit.
