Nope. In fact, I bought a copy of MW2 today at best buy as a 16 year old, nothing resembling an age check. It's probably my height and rather large build, though.
Owned: The Orange Box.
My parents were relatively protective with games until Christmas when I was 13, when they gave me the Orange Box and let me have M-rated games.
Mortal Kombat. And yes i was under 18 yrs old. Probably the first game to score massive media exposure for violence and outrageed mothers *sigh. That i can remember anyway. But played plenty of games before that on the pc that had there been an actual rating system when they were released woulda been sporting a big fat M on the cover. Or cd Jewel case as i think they were called lol.
There was no ESRB at the time, but they formed due to this game and rated it M. Mortal Kombat of course. I was 2 when I first played. And I have killed hundreds of people and I'm completely emotionally unstable and I'm a threat to society because of it.
First for me was Metal Gear Solid, I was about 12 years old, found it in a pawn shop for $15 and I beat it about 5 times before getting a PS2 and more games. My main games for the time were MGS, Chrono Trigger and Mortal Kombat.
