Half life 2. Specifically episode 2, (if that counts as a sepearte game) it just felt like playing a blockbuster film. It was like Michael Bay if someone else did the story, the vehicle section was great because since you had to weapons on the car had the feeling of a car chase and you're racing against time to reach White forest. And the strider battle end was just epic, if you're going to be "that guy" who's the only one can do anything you may as well do it like that

EDIT; changed 3 to 2 realise that error could be rather costly

Left 4 Dead would be my favorite. I'm not sure it's technically part of the newest generation, but it's a lot newer than Counterstrike, which is the only other title on that list I could be bothered to play.

Team Fortress 2 was my first answer. My second choice would be Halo 3 because they are the only games with innovation.

If I had to pick just 1, Counter-Strike: Source. I can pretty much play that FPS forever.

Follow that with Team Fortress 2 - love that game, but sometimes the levels go on forever when people don't work together. That gets a bit old.

Lastly L4D. Yes, I'm pretty much a Valve Fanboi because Epic Games (Atari) shit all over my favorite series of all time: Unreal Tournament, so that one's pretty much out.

Halo 3 because of its user-friendly map editor (well, it had to be, without a mouse) and its above average multiplayer. The connection aspect, not the players. I've never been kicked in a Slayer match to date.

Call of Duty 2. No bullshit gun unlocking, no bullshit leveling that is done completly wrong and unfair, no bullshit perks. Get your gun of choice, and kick ass or get yours kicked.

It's hard to choose. There were several games that I liked. I liked Halo 3, Fallout 3, Clive Barker's Jericho and Bioshock was also good. For me, each were fun, but each also had something different I liked about them. :D

Out of the list is Team Fortress 2, but I'd say Unreal Tournament 3. So much fun, and it's a really a every man standing version of Team Fortress.

I love how you have BattleFeild 1943 yet you don't have BF:BC, which is about 20,000 times better since its acually a full game for the same price.

Either way I pick Team Fortress 2 for obvios reasons.

Where oh where oh where is Left 4 Dead? I don't play FPS's as a rule, but I have to say it's one of my favourite games of the last five years if not longer. Shame it doesn't work anymore.

Modern Warfare. One of the most interesting FPS in my opinion. Most fun I have playing multiplayer since Call of Duty 2.

Halo 3, by far - most of the other games on that list aren't even good, although I also like Team Fortress 2.
most of the other games? Cod4, counter strike and The Orange Box is far better than halo.
Oh, I wasn't aware it was officially announced that Call of Duty 4, Counterstrike and the Orange Box are all better than Halo 3. Or maybe it was announced that opinions no longer exist and everything anyone says is fact.
