Poll: Your Game of the Year 2010

Now, I know there has already been a dozen threads like this, but bear with me. I just want to tally the votes, see how it looks.

Mind, I only have 8 options on the poll. So don't whine if you don't find your game there.

My choices for the poll are based on what the Escapists have been voting for in the other GOTY threads, not necessarily the most popular.

Some big titles I haven't included; God of War 3, Black Ops, Fable III, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Rock Band III, Starcraft II.. blah blah..

I will tally the votes that was submitted via posting because the game wasn't up on the poll.

I know, right? Perhaps this was a bad idea. Was Bayonetta really that good a game? Never had the patience to get too far.

Wonder if putting 'Minecraft' up on the poll was a bad idea.

So far, Fallout: New Vegas holds the title of my GOTY 2010. Red Dead Redemption was also good, but the lack of stuff to do after you finish the story really disappointed me.

Personally, for me, Halo Reach is something very special. It feels like bungie made the game just for me. So it gets my vote.

Minecraft still hasn't been released, it would be like calling a demo the game of the year, because that's what it is.

ME2? Seriously? It's absolute bilge; the combat system is horrendous and every encounter is exactly the same, plus the 'love' scenes are just embarassing.

Heavy Rain...I'm afraid, is my game of the year, though I've not played Brotherhood yet and Golden Sun 3 is out tomorrow...up close for me are FFXIII and probably New Vegas

Eh, I guess there's nothing really great coming out for the rest of the year so a GOTY thread isn't ridiculous. But the way to do it is to have people list their top 5 and then weigh the results after enough responses. It's been done like that with Games and movies, though I'm having trouble finding those threads at the moment. I wish we could sticky them, they're cool to look at.

Hard to get better than Mass Effect 2 for me but overall 2010 was a hell of a year for games despite a lukewarm fall.

For me, RDR has taken that prize this year..

But had it not been for New Vegas beeing utterly broken by bugs, glitches and lag, it would have taken that award home in a glittery bag of win.. But sadly so be it not..

Not really. Just unremarkable. We didn't get very many outstanding "hit titles" in the last few months - just things that were "all right." And the memory of the smashes from the first half of the year - Red Dead Redemption, Mass Effect 2, Bayonetta - is losing its lustre over time.

That, and there hasn't really been a new console generation for the past several years, lackluster motion controls notwithstanding. But all this I expect to change drastically next year, what with the 3DS coming out, and Uncharted 3 maybe, and a bunch of other stuff.
