Gonna vote for PC, since it legitimately is my preferred way to game. That said, I'm not opposed to consoles or handhelds either. I just tend not to use them for much other than exclusive titles and maybe some Netflix once in a while.
I'm a full time PC gamer. Not that I wouldn't buy a console if I had the income, but at this point I don't see it that worthwhile to purchase them only for the exclusives even if I could.
I voted PC, that is my preference and the way I game most often, I do own a PS3, PSP, Gameboy Advance, PS2 and a Wii. I had an Xbox 360 but found it the to be the only system that was utterly useless. I suppose it would be fine for someone interested in Halo or Gears of War, those were just to generic bland for me, so I only kept the system around for Alan Wake, I bought that at release for PC, and promptly gave away the XBox, was just collecting dust anyway.
PC is great! If you know have the money and the know-how to put everything together.
Console is great! If you want simplicity and user-friendliness, and are willing to sometimes play inferior ports (See Battlefield 3, Skyrim)
Handhelds are great! If you're travelling, playing an exclusive, or a huge JRPG fan.
The way I see it, it's all about what you want from your gaming platform.
69 vs 9 It seems to me that there's a massive disconnect between the console focused Escapist mag and the regular audience, considering the overwhelwing PC majority everytime someone does this poll.
Good question why we keep having console vs PC debates on this forum, considering we have so few console gamers left. The console side must be making overtime. Let's give those poor guys a break.
I generally prefer gaming on console, though I'm not averse to the PC. I play the bigger budget hardcore titles on console, and the downloadable indie titles on PC.
Is there anyone who considers hanhelds to be their main gaming platform? Generally the handhelds and smartphones are there to complement the bigger ones.
Console and Handheld, probably in equal measure. Every argument I hear telling me why I should go to PC is trumped by me pointing to the first party Nintendo lineup.
I chose handhelds because after seven years I'm sick of sitting in this damn chair... Someone please call the fire department, I need the jaws of life.
A bit of all of them, though if forced to choose I'd probably pick a console.
I mainly play strategy and rpg games on the PC, but then the most recent PC game I bought is the first Borderlands as most modern PC games don't interest me.
Consoles I play a mixture on but yet again I don't buy new games very often as most modern games really don't interest me much. My most played consoles are my Megadrive, N64, Gamecube and original Xbox.
Handhelds are awesome. What beats a long boring journey? A long boring journey with awesome games . Still using a Gameboy Pocket at times, but the PSP takes most of my handheld time.
I'd pick them all for different reasons, but I'd rather have all of my consoles than a PC or handheld.
How dare you not distinguish between X360 and PS3. This is an affront!
Kidding, but console. I like that games are made for the system and not the other way around. It's all very well to say that consoles are holding back the torrent of gaming power that is advancing PCs, but I don't want to have to upgrade my machine every week. Ain't nobody got time for that.
I also liked the PSP, although if it weren't for Monster Hunter, Armored Core and Metal Gear I'm not sure I'd have had so much fun with it. It was a really nice little handheld though, compact and powerful. Didn't get a Vita for lack of games, wonder if Sony has noticed that having no games is a problem when they're trying to sell a new system. I also liked the Gameboy Colour and, with less nostalgia, Advance. You know, the last serious handhelds Nintendo made.
All of them I dont want to miss out on great games (ok thats exagerrated atm I dont own a 3DS, Vita or WiiU) mainly though if given the choice I prefer Consoles over PC and handhelds as gaming on the PC feels like work to me and tends to crash more than my consoles and handhelds (even more than the goddamn 360) while handhelds just have too small a screen. With a console I can relax while I play and I dont have to upgrade for seven years (at least this time) which is nice.
That reminds me havent had my SNES out this year yet better rectify that now.
