...my cat didn't cost 2000$
(O_O)

Mine did, in medical fees. :/

OT: Well, dog lives outside so, no problem there. :p

Cats... 9 of them... I would of course save them all.

...

THEY ARE MY CHILDREN. ;~;

And Fluffy is my brother. ;~;

It will be a cold day in hell before I let anything happen to him. ;~;

[sub]Not sure how long he has left though... ;~;[/sub]

rofl where i come from we'd just put the cat down if it starts costing medical fees.. we have cats to catch mice. ;)

In a hypothetical scenario, I'd save any dog over any electrical appliance or appliances. If I had to choose someone elses dog or both my computers, I'd save the dog every time.

I don't have a dog nor a console so my answer is just..neither.

But,if I had a dog and a console I would choose the dog.

Consoles can be repurchased,a few years companion friend is not.

No dog, and I'd let the console burn, collect a bigger insurance check, and move somewhere nicer. (=

I don't have a dog, but I wouldn't risk my life to save an easily replaceable console.

Definitely my dog (if I had one).
The only console I have though is a DS so I could probably shove that in a pocket on the way out

OT: Dog everytime. I don't even have one, but I can buy an identical console tomorrow. Buying another best friend ? Not so easy.
Pretty much what I was going to say

Consoles can be replaced.

Loyal companion dogs who have been with you most of your life can't be.
Exactly. I imagine anyone who actually has a dog would save their dog -- given the scenario that the dog can't save itself. It's a very short list of humans I would save over my dogs. So fuck the console insurance will replace that -- you can't 'replace' a dog. If you would choose your console over your dog (assuming it's a pet and not a working dog)... maybe you should't have a dog.

<.<

I am going to pretend you said that out of random mention and not to troll me. <.<

They are companions far better than humans. <.<

I struggle to understand how this is even a thing.

Soulless machinery, or a living, feeling animal that will probably die in agony if left behind.
HMMMMM.
Pretty much this. It's probably the easiest question I've ever been asked.

Got a cat.
If the situation would occur that I had to choose one I'd definetly pick my cat.

Who'd choose their console over their pet? >.<

Bro, screw my console. I love my dog. Not even my dog is worth my 40+ Dragon Age saves, my 30+ ME2 saves, my 20+ Fallout: New Vegas saves, my 60+ Fallout 3 saves...

Actually, screw my dog.

Pets come first. Although neither comes off as something I'd want to attempt in a burning building... on the one hand, I have 12 consoles I'd have to try and unhook and carry out. That's assuming I leave the handhelds behind. On the other hand, we've got 2 dogs and 2 cats right now. One cat hates being picked up. One dog weighs 120 pounds and I can't pick him up.

I'm gonna have to pray the pets get out on their own, so I can try for something I really can't replace- like family photos. Or childhood toys.

before i answer the question in this poll/thread i think i should point out that the situation isn't very clear. All that we've been told is our house is on fire and then asked what we would save:

You haven't mentioned where the fire is besides that part of our house is on fire (or presumably all of the house is on fire) is it one room? is it half of the house? Is it one floor?

secondly you haven't mentioned what time of the day it is, this may seem trivial but have I been woken up in the middle of the night? or have i been out shopping and returned to find smoke coming out of the windows?

thirdly am I inside the house or outside it?

If i'm trapped inside my room then i've nowhere to go except out my window onto the extension roof so neither would get saved as i'd be unable to get my cats (i don't have a dog) and i'd be more concerned about my own survival than thinking "Save my FFX file"
similarly if i can get out my room but the first floor is on fire the situation will be the same.

however if it's just a small isolated fire (say the kitchen) i would quickly look for the cats and get them out if i could.

but i'm not gonna put my own life in danger just to save a machine.

My computer is pretty fucking heavy. My dog is a husky so he could probably save himself...
