I am kinda disappointed they let the first batch of characters go but the new ones do seem to blend in.

A favorite l4d character? Personally, I hate all of them. They lack significant character development or emotion (other than pissed) for that matter. But then again, this is l4d and no ones playing it for deep characters and a complex story.

except for bill (kinda). I can guess as to what kind of life Bill had before the infection, unlike coach or zoey.

If you pay attention, you can find subtle hints towards character development and back story.

This is just the first example that comes to mind:

It's never explained why Louis is able to survive the zombie apocalypse for two weeks through cutscenes, but there's one line where he says that he used to visit the rifle range during lunch breaks at work. Zoey also says a few lines about how the zombies aren't following "the rules" implying that she watched a lot of zombie movies, which is how she was able to survive.

After playing for a few weeks I've changed my opinion, Rochelle is my least favorite, Ellis may be annoying, but at least he has a personality, Rochelle is a robot.

My two favorites are Bill and Louis. Bill because he's a bad ass, and Louis because he's funny. I haven't played L4D2 much, but of what I have, I don't dislike any of the characters. So, I guess I could say:

Louis-he just always seemed to not have any personality, not even a sterotype! My friend likes him a lot for some reason. I like what Francis says if he is incapped outside the saferoom and everyone else is inside "Are we just leaving Louis out there? Because I'm cool with that if everybody else is."

Changed my mind, I dislike Rochelle more than I hate Ellis.

Coach is my favourite L4D (2) character, and Ellis... god how I hate him.
Everytime I play as him in a server, I quit. I can not stand him. I'll even occasionally shoot any team members playing as him if they do something really stupid and get on my nerves.
He truly is a fucking moron...
And I now know way too much about his friend Keith.

UPDATE: I created a thread which talks about which character will be killed in the upcoming DLC. I'm thinking it will be Louis because he seems to be the least favorite l4d1 character among the people here.
