Poll: Your Library

My fellow escapists, I know many of you are avid readers, and am wondering how many books do you own? I have two full bookshelves and most people think I'm crazy for buying more. Just want to know what other people have.

I have maybe ~40 books

I count 27. But that's only the ones I have here. Back in my parent's house I still have tons of books that it just wasn't logical to bring here when I moved.

Well, I have about 5 different floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, each about 2-3 meters wide.

I have no idea how many books there are, but I think I can safely say its more than a hundred.

I would estimate at somewhere greater than a hundred. They are all comic books (or graphic novels, whatever you wanna call them) though, so I might be some kind of faux-book purist.

Between reading for pleasure, university reading, and just plain picking up books because they're obscenely cheap at market, I have well over 100.

The amount I've read far surpasses that though, thanks to the wonders of 'borrowing' and free shit off the internet (Huzzah for Mark Twain stuff being free on the internet!).

I've got fifty-eight books, not counting about ten graphic novels and comic strip compilations (Calvin and Hobbes books) and a couple of library books. And over the years I've turned in more than a hundred, probably closer to two hundred, books at local used books stores.

Over the course of my life I've read well over a thousand books, that includes Goosebumps and other young readers books. One year alone I read one hundred novels, each one over two hundred and fifty pages, some of them over three and four hundred (and all of them had small to medium print and small margins)

I tend to work my way through about ten charity shops once a week (Brighton has a lot of charity shops) and end up spending about £10-£20 a time, so I buy between five and ten books a week.

Almost all my books are academic texts on film, culture, sociology and twentieth century history (and the many off shoots of these diciplines). I have no idea how many books I have but far more than I have space for.

My collection of books is very fluid, most of my books are swiftly traded for other ones over the internet, so they keep changing, I only really hang on to about 30 books, nearly all are by Bernard Cornwell.

Edit: I didn't bother counting, thinking that all the numbers being bandied about were pure ego-stroking exaggerations. However, after a hasty count of the books I have in my room, I seem to have about 70! There's more downstairs, though, so I'll wager there's about 90-something books spread around.

I guess that's what happens when you hardly ever throw away books.

I have WAY over one hundred books, after quite a while of counting I got bored stopped at around 500, but I have more.

When I last counted it was about 60-70.
I don't have the room for any more, but I love my books.
