Hey Escapist members. What's your opinion of racing games.

Personally, I don't really like them, but that's because I'm not really good at racing games.

Bleh... unless they have customisation and free-roam... then I can tolerate them. :D

You just do the same thing on a different track in a different car each time. There is very little story and no freedom.

I love them, especially games like the Need for Speed series. Carbon especially, I get home from work and just sit for hours driving around the city.

I'm fine with racing games, I just don't like car games (with an exception for Flatout).

racing game are annoying because you can accidently go in a spin and you go from about to win first place to last place. need for speed underground is the only good one because i can challange random people on the streets.

The last racing game to really interest me was F-Zero GX.

Real life racers to me are just boring.

They're okay to me for a once in awhile play but I never really got too much into it. You've got your cartoonish racer which the only one I really ever liked was mario kart 64. You've got your little free roaming street racing which didn't really impress me much. Then you've got your more "simulator" oriented that range from NASCAR to F1 to Gran Turismo. I'm much preferred Gran Turismo simply for the rally racing.

Depends. I like the good ones. I'm not a major fan, but they can be quite fun. I just came back from my vacation where I spent many a fun hour playing Burnout 3 with my friends on my mate's PS2. It was pure awesome.

I want to like them but it's hard because I'm so bad at them. I did enjoy Gran Turismo 2 back in the day and who doesn't like a good round of Mario Kart, but other than that, no.

I enjoy the more arcady ones like San Fransico Rush, or the Burnout series. Grand Turismo bored me to death. I also enjoy the racing sections in the GTA games.

I grew up on racing games. Now, I prefer ones with depth. They don't have to be realistic, but I appreciate a complex driving model. Trackmania, for instance, does that very well.

I don't particularly like racing games. I find them terribly boring, and lacking in any real fun.

I take my video games with story and bright colours thanks, with a side order of likeable characters, not just a car and a track.

Realistic ones like Gran Tourismo bore me, but the ones where you can just go crazy, Like Burnout, can keep me interested.
