I like them but don't play much of them, and aren't very good either.
In Gran Turismo, I tended to pick a car and stick to it, generally drive it on just a few tracks, and try to improve lap times, figuring out the track, sliding a little bit around corners. That's where the fun was for me. Don't care much about customization, having a huge selection of cars, any of that.
I like the unrealistic racing games. I personally thought that Forza 2 was boring and that Pure was absolute greatness (I just wish I could get the money to buy it instead of going to my friends house to play it).
You should really add a middle option. I know what they are, and I neither hate or love them. They're okay, and fun to spend an hour or two with, but they get boring quickly.
