In all Honesty, I'd prefer Humanoid Shadows, mostly because of how versatile they could be in the Dark and in the cloak of night.

Plus having my own Shadow act as a weapon would be sooooooooo badass. We could fight together.

Me:"Yo, just you me and my Shadow right now!"
Guy: "alright punk"
*My Shadow comes from out the ground*
Shadow: Hehehehe
Guy: Oh $HIT!!
Sounds like something from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.

I chose this too, it'd just be too much fun.

Maybe some dapper, waistcoat, pointy shoe, sword cane carrying, variant of Demons-assuming they could take human form. They would always have to have some clever quip or pun before they attacked.

Whimsical doom is how I like to roll.
That works too

Problem with robots is that all robots of one type are 100% identical. It would only take 1 single virus to be developed to be used against your robots, or one weakness to be found within your mechanical minions and your entire army dies.

Just what I was going to say. Though infected zombies would be uncontrollable, and not much of a threat to any intelligent civilisation. Sheer force of numbers might overwhelm a planet as you say, but isn't it a bit of a waste to then have to organise another army to kill the one you sent before? Might as well just send in the robots first.

Darkness but different than regular shadow can't stand light minions. Mine would be the kind that wear human skins can move around in light, owe and some of my wonderful little creatures of the night can craw into dead bodies and reanimate them.

My main go to guy would be my shadow of course and I'm a powerful Alchemist/Sorcerer (How else would i control such a legion?)

I've been playing Metroid Prime 2 all afternoon, so I have the Ing stuck in my mind.

So... shadow beings, for me. Specifically the Ing. Unless I happen to be against Samus, in which case some kind of, uh...

Um...

Guys, what kills Samus?

That first line scared me...

And, I'll go with robots, the ultimate obediant servant.
Either that or some nicely dressed demons.

EDIT: Wait, I can have an other? Well female vampire ninjas obviously.

I'd go for an army of robot minions, zero accountability as if one gets destroyed I just make another one, and I can upgrade and adapt them for any situation. Also I can have HK:47 as my personal bodyguard.

That would be more expensive, as it would require a lot of robot (think millions of robots), lots of them would be destroyed by the local sentients (unless they're some kind of peaceful race that doesn't resist at all/doesn't know how to fight).

The zombie infestation would only require me to infect the food/water supplies and they'll do the rest themselves.

The robots I then send in are nothing more than a cleanup crew (maybe 500 robots) and later some building crews (construction bots) to establish my bases (factories to make more robots, mines and other stuff to gather more resources and maybe some laboratories (run by science bots)) on the planet.
The construction bots would have to be sent in either case.

And by nicely dressed demons, you're probably referring to scantily clad succubi such as Morrigan from Darkstalkers? XD

You just Won the thread with that statement. An army consisting of a shitty developing team can destroy any hero. Just look at Megaman Zero (I don't regret that statement in anyway, I hated ZX)

Awesome indeed. I fell in love with that Robot and Bioware when I heard his dialogue.

Nazis of course. I know its taboo and all, but I felt like I had to say it. I mean pirates are murderers, rapists and theives but for some reason they are considered all fun and goofy.

So, I would have goofy over-the-top hogan's heroes type Nazis.

I'd like my armies to be small but versatile and well trained and equipped.
If I can get space ships that'll be nice.
oh and tanks, but quick battletanks not slow giants.
Then some special marines for defnence and boarding actions.
and all of it backed up by autonomous drones
