What type of magic do you favor most, and why? Are you an avid pyromancer, or do you prefer playing with the dead as a Necromancer?

I prefer Electromancy myself. I have always enjoyed thunderstorms, and electric magic seems most adaptable and useful.

Pyro Every day Nothing says stress relief like "lighting up some jackass with a fireball the size of a house"

Bonus points and invisible cookies to anyone who can guess where that quote is from

Psionic magic, all the way. Slipping reality and the perception thereof a fiver to get things done. And if the polite subterfuge doesn't help, you can always fry their neurons.

Tear their toughts asundeeeer!!

Aero. I wouldn't want to attract a lot of attention, and air seems like it would be a lot more subtle than the other options.

I'd prefer being a jack of all trades myself. Why bother being the best at something when you can exploit any weakness and conver all you bases? Totally not cause I'm too ADD to stick with something

I like electro magic. There's just something about shooting lightning out of your hands emperor palpatine style that makes me love it so. That and you can power all sorts of devices that makes it pretty useful today.

What I wouldn't give for the power to conjure ice/cold. I hate the heat, triggers my hives and makes me feel awful. I look at people who willingly visit tropical areas as my mortal enemies.

I can fully agree with you there. Because Electomancy revolves around forced manipulation of electrons and electromagnetic behavior, almost all of the other types can be in some way utilized:

Eartho (should be geo): manipulation of magnetic materials to levitate earth, cause liquefaction and earthquakes, and create barriers and golems
Aero: inducing patterns of atomic flow in the air will create wind and charging it can create rudimentary plasma
Pryo: use the electricity to excite atoms, generating immense heat and starting fires
Cryo: Pryo in reserve, force atoms to congregate close together forcing them to slow down and taking a lot of heat energy out, creating ice
Hydro: water is a polar molecule so using massive amounts of electricity to induce a magnetic field will create serpents, whips, and even pull the limbs of enemies around like a puppet
Psycho: altering electric firing in the brain should produce abnormal mental effects and full understanding will create subconscious suggestions and full allegence

and if I can't do the previously mentioned aspects, i can do something that rips armies apart with ease

(I know it's not magic but it's an excellent application of electromagnetism and an impressive show of force)

There's that, which is awesome.

But you shouldn't forget about the less-subtle parts of Aeromancy. Better known as flying.

I mean seriously, flying. How can any of the other magics beat that?

Don't know if their is a actual name for it so I will make up my own. I would have LuckMancy. The power to control good and bad luck to the extream.

You try to throw a fireball at me? Your hand will cramp at the last second, making you drop the fireball on your foot resulting in you burning yourself to death.

You try to shoot me with a gun? The gun will backfire, taking you hand off.

I need £50? I turn around and I find a £50 note on the floor.

I am being attacked and all I have to defend myself is a pencil? I throw the pencil at you, it lands in your eye, burrowing strait up into your brain. Or maybe I don't need the pencil because the person attacking me suddenly dies of a brain aneurysm.

Difficult question. Fire is a hell of a lot of fun to play with, but psychic powers are more versatile. You could read peoples mind, control them, use telekinesis, maybe see into the future etc. With fire you can cause a lot of destruction and keep yourself warm at night if you're out in the open, but i think psychic powers are just more useful to have.

Holy/White magic, a la miraculous healing and "light"-based attacks that destroy evil. Not only is it more my style, but unlike other kinds of magic that may cause me to be put in a lab and tested on or something, it would easily inspire awe in the masses and I could form a cult to my awesomeness. You know, if this is modern Earth. Or medieval, etc. Earth, even more so, as such talents might dub me a saint, whereas necromancy would get me burned at the stake.

I voted for other.

My favourite is not as common, but just as fun. It also happens to be Yarpen Zigrin's favourite... Lesbomancy!

Well i chose other, my preferred type of magic would be spacetime mage ( lets call it a Continuum mage) with the power over both space and time. However if i was limited to one i would rather be a Chronomancer : the ability to slow or speed up time, to slow people or objects individually, or speed up myself, the ability to rewind time if i so choose , or stop it entirely and take a walk while everyone is frozen. Other benefits of this would be perpetual youth due to control over telomers and skin cells being rewound to their youth, and something akin to immortality as long as I'm alive long enough to reverse the damage ( oh i cut my finger, well rewind the events and avoid it). Along with perpetual youth it would grant me access to many days of my life at once.

The most common complaint from perpetual youth/immortality is anyone you love or care for will be shocked or disgusted when you don't age and they slowly wither to death. a Chronomancer would avoid this pitfall because you could let yourself age unto their death and then reset your internal clock back to your prime, or even as a kid.
