I specialize in 2 schools of magic: Illusionist and Friendship...

although I'm also thinking of seeing if David Bowie offers online courses in Dance Magic. ;D

Three way tie between pyro, necro, and electro.

With fire I could just be awesome and burn shit. Necro and have an undead army to take over the world. Electro because, who doesn't love electricity, I could become a mobile charger.

Always Necromancy. Its applications allow for the formation of empires. Being able to control the dead grants you the ability to use their incredible endurance and strength to perform other practical tasks. The other advantage is you simply can't run out of them.

Healing magic is probably ideal considering I would find more uses for it in daily life, rather than magic I could use to kill things.

Allomancy, and all the other magic powers in the Mistborn series (as well as the related series like Elysium).

Hydromancy if that includes frost magic. I think it does.

I voted Necromancy before thinking though. I like being able to call up a dozen or so skeletons to overwhelm the enemy. They're pretty renewable in some situations, but in other situations where you need zombies without bodies around it really doesn't do you any good, does it? Maintaining an entourage is difficult. Minions fall apart sometimes, they're very conspicuous, often slow. Maintaining them would be a big hassle, and failing that, you'd have to transport dead bodies with you to be animated when you need them. You'd have to rely on there being bodies around the battlefield most of the time.

However, I still love it as my second favorite since having minions there to do the stuff for you just can't be beat. It's a lot safer than trying to call and control demons, that's for sure.

I really like ice. Slowing down or stopping the enemy is a nice way to disable them and it's usually not too mana intensive. I don't use the freezing plasmid in Bioshock though because it's really too cheap; you just freeze them instantly and wail on them with your melee weapon until they shatter. Boring.

Definitely Necromancy.

For starters, I'm lazy, so conjuring up skeletons and zombies to do the work for me is perfect.

2nd, think about all those other powers, since skeletons and zombies are mindless, don't breathe, and don't feel pain, psionic abilities and a whole bunch of those other disciplines wouldn't even affect them.

3rd, once you kill your opponent, you get to really rub it in by resurrecting them and making them do your bidding!

That and the Necromancer was my favorite Diablo 2 character class, and Quan Chi is my favorite MK character (obviously).

Electricity all the way. There are so many possible applications for such a magic! You can do non-lethal but annoying things like shocking someone with a small static-level zap, you can incapacitate people with taser-like voltage, you can simply fry things with arc lightning, you can (probably) recharge batteries, you could use electromagnetism to launch metal objects at things, or tons of other things! Plus, it's the most impressive (and dangerous) looking because of how wild and jagged bolts of electricity look. The only downside would be some possible collateral damage. I mean, those stray electrons have to go somewhere.

First thing coming to mind is this:

Seriously though, Necromancy ftw, nothing's more fun then an army of the undead under your control :)

Related series, uh yeah that's a lot of magic systems.

As you mentioned there is: Allomancy it is one of the Metallic Arts. The other two being Feruchemy & Hemalurgy.
Then there is Forgery, from The Emperor's Soul. Related to Forgery is AonDor from Elantris.
BioChroma Breath used in Awakening's from Warbreaker.
Last but biggest are the magic systems from Stormlight. Surgebinding, Soul Casting, lightweaving and the other 7 magics that use stormlight as fule. Also Voidbrinding and the Old Magics are in that series.

All of which fall under the umbrella idea of Investiture. So yeah a lot of magic systems. All of which are cool, but Allomancy or Hemalurgy are the coolest. But Forgery is possibly the most useful.

Yeah I would want to be a Forger.

you didn't really translate rock with earth, yes?
"eartho"mancy should be geomancy

however, out of those i'd go with pyromancy:
1. it's a classic, if not THE classic (and i'm a bit conservative regarding one thing or another - not politics though, god forbid)
2. nothing says "don't fuck with me" like it, because you can light them up like a matchstick with the snip of your fingers
3. i just LOVE Cynn (Guild Wars 1), both ingame and her prelude/background in the manual (and her high-res artwork <3 )
4. with just little thought it can actually be quite handy in everyday situations like robbing banks, destroying bad megacorporations, topple stupid governments etc.
5. not even watching kitties on youtube doing kitty-stuff is more fun than blowing stuff up - and only by using your own (will-)power!

It's a really close tie between.....

Time Control: Because I love history and the prospect of the future so much, It would be just amazing for me.
And
Electomancy: Because. Gotta jerk that won't leave you alone? Force Lightning that ***** out the way. Power outage? Force Lightning. Walking to the car and it's dark? Force lightning!
