Friendship!...er wait, wrong kind of magic.
Have to go with gravity control/manipulation. You know, for when fire and ice aren't enough, there's always black holes.
Or just completely negating the pull of gravity on a person/object and watching it get ripped of the planet and sent spinning into space, that's always fun.

Gotta go with mental magic, just too powerful!
Oh, you can throw fireballs/ice/earth/puppies the size of Manhattan? How cute. You now worship the ground I walk on, and will do anything for me.
Or you now think you're a kitty, depending on my mood.
Fun note about mental control, It requires overriding electrical signals in the brain and forcing firing patterns to realign. Guess what two powers can negate this type of attack?

A stronger Mental controller can prevent your overriding patterns and an electromaster can create disrupter fields in and around neurons to prevent control.

Also let me ask something, power beckons competition to see who's stronger but what if there was a power so great, so absolute that no one would dare challenge you, no one would fight you, and all kneel before you?

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you "the one who wields the power of god", the only one close to having that absolute power

ANOTHER INDEX FAN!

do you just watch the Anime or do you read the novels too?

Back on topic, Electromancer all the way, using static and magnetism to walk on walls and ceilings, and of course the power of lightning at my fingertips.

Necromancy.

Raising legions of living corpses to do your bidding.
The most awesome thing ever... As long as you can ignore the smell, hahaha!

Necromancy gets you minions, and I enjoy having minions quite a lot.

The antithesis of necromancy is pyromancy, which is my second favorite.

Coolest thing ever at the right moments.

From the list I would pick Geomancy (earthromancy? silly pollmaker :p) but if I could make up a kind of magic then I'd pick whatever it would be that gave me the powers of Nico Robin from One Piece.

They'll be torn off, just like an orange!

Chrono-magic. Time control is the shit.
Ninja'd. My version of someotheromancy would be chronomancy. I'm a fan of Tempus aka Eva Bell from the current Uncanny X-Men, so yeah, woo for Australians stopping time!

Definitely a Necromancer/Dark Wizard for me, it's a big part of why I like Diablo 2 so much. I just love the idea of using the most vile spells. They just seem like the classes that you could predict the least, though this view is inspired by movies and shows.

Edit: Also, in games I usually go a summoner. Lineage 2 had the best summoners cause it literally felt like another person working with you (that you had to control of course). They just let you wield it so freely. I remember I would often send my summon long distances to attack a mob or someone and hide behind something while doing it. It was hilarious. Plus each summon had it's own ability's so you could fit into any area and help any party one way or another.

If I were to choose from avaliable options, then deffinetly fire magic.
But if not, then healing, healing, and once again healing.

I went with psycho. As a skinny nerd, the 'mind over matter' principle just comes naturally. Healing magic is a close second though

I prefer MagicTheGatheringancy. It's the only one that exists proper, so there you go. I thought I was Esper. Turns out I'm Grixis.

Closely followed by psychology.

And anything with electricity, sparks and other refreshing use of the little pick-me-up that is electric current. I like that.

I also like fire. As in BBQ and the like. Putting a nice brown and just a hint of black on my meat and veggies. Fire is awesome.

Then again, water has to be my favourite. Cold water, hot water - showers, baths, rivers, lakes, the sea - aaaah water. Water is awesome.

I'll only read the cards to you when you annoy me. Annoying people generally seem all too willing to go for the supernatural when everything else fails.

For me it's an even split between electro, hydro and aero. All look and sound awesome and have a wide array of applications, but if I had to choose just one it would be electro. As has been mentioned, it basically allows you to control the entire electromagnetic spectrum, which is one of the most powerful fundmental forces in the universe, or any universe where humans might happen to exist.

For more on this, visit tvtropes' "Lightning can do anything" page.

Gotta pick electro, I love electricity and I was always fascinated by lightning. Even got electrocuted once by some loose wiring when I was about eleven years old. Not intentionally of course, but the rush of that moment is unforgettable.

Although I could also go with Temporal manipulation. In the hands of a sufficiently skilled user it can be terrifyingly powerful.

If I could I would have control of the forces of the universe. Electromagnetism, Strong and Weak Nuclear, Gravity and potentially even time. With that I would control quite literally every aspect of creation. With enough experience I could do almost anything.

Barring that and the OP nature of it, I'd go Chronomancy too. Too many things in my life hat I need to re-write, as well as a ton of other advantages.

I'd like Hydromancy.
Nothing takes the stress away better than making a massive hand out of hand to smash a random person into a river.

When it comes to elemental stuff I tend to favor water and air over fire and earth for example. But in regards to magic systems i liked the old Mage: The Ascension system the most which divided all things into nine spheres: Entropy, Force, Correspondence, Time, Mind, Matter, Life, Prime, Spirit and a ninth sphere no one really knew exactly what it was.
The combination of these spheres was what made you able to perform virtually anything given that you could muster the willpower to bend the cosmos towards what you want and not having to much "disbelief" around you which could make spells backfire the more "unreal" the feat you wanted to accomplish.
You could cast however you wanted depending on if you were more the Latin chanting guy or someone who gets into a trance first or uses technological gadgets for spellcasting.
I miss the old World of Darkness.

None of this kind of magic. The type I find interesting is the magic found in the real world; shamanism and ritual magic is very powerful, provided you understand what it is.
