Doesn't shave usually turn out way worse?

I usually trim or wax but waxing is pretty expensive
It depends on the type of hair, is to how bad it can turn out. Waxing can be expensive, if you go to a professional parlor. $15 for a tub of microwaveable goop (they are usually good for 5 or 6 waxings, each waxing lasting 4 to 6 weeks), and you can do it at home yourself.

Can't say I do, but this thread has given me a lot to think about...
Er... maybe too much...

Before I started dating (in college) I never thought much about the hair below. When my first serious girlfriend and I lost our virginity together we found the way the smell of urine stayed with each others unshaven pubes and the awkwardness of pubic hairs resulting from oral sex distasteful. We agreed to both trim on a regular basis thereafter.

Others are turned on by such smells, and even take shaving as an artistic challenge.

Do you shave your pubic hair? Trim it or shave it into patterns or dirty words?

Where do you stand on this important modern issue?
Maybe neither of you used enough soap?

I don't do anything with mine other than wash it with the rest of me every few days. I don't grow too much body hair in general (which is kinda funny considering how long my hair is) but at 29 I can count the number of chest-hairs I have with both hands and a foot, my under-arms and calves looks like the hair was hastily sketched on, my thighs have a couple of hairs per and, it looks like a small tumbleweed is stuck to my crotch.

Are we at TMI yet?

Well anyhow: I've shaved once and honestly, I like the way that looks more than with hair but it's a lot of effort for something that ultimately I don't care too much about. I don't have sex and I do what I can to keep my bare legs from being shown in general. Nobody sees it so it can be argued that it doesn't actually exist.

We bathed every day--sometimes two or three times a day after exercising (I was very athletic back then). Mostly it came up because it interfered with...spontaneity.

Given that the last time I enjoyed company of the feminine variety was during the Bush Jr. Administration, trimming down below isn't something I give a lot of thought to. Also this thread is both hilarious and informative.

Eh it was a quote from Bill Bailey's Cosmic Jam...

In any event, she's fine... she dislikes my pubes too short, anyway, since it's too prickly when we do the biz... her skin is very sensitive...(!)

I don't bother shaving unless I have a GF, in which case it could potentially matter. I'm 100% not attracted to it at all though, to the point they're a turn off entirely. Tried to shave once on my own... The itch when it all grew back. OH GOD THE ITCHING SUCKED. Tiny hairs = BAD

I don't do anything with it.

Who's gonna see it other than people in the sauna who I don't want anywhere near my crotch?

Untrimmed. Well. Mostly. Sometimes it gets stupidly long to an extent where it is physically uncomfortable just to have, and tangles things, and gets longer than some of my fingers. Then I trim it to a reasonable, managable level.

I am highly sexually active, and neither me nor my partners care about having pubic hair or not. One partner tried shaving and trimming for a while, and it was different, but we've agreed it isn't important and its up to each of us how we want to take care of our own. We're all clean and showered and such beforehand, so there's no issue with smell. Its just kind of a thing that doesn't matter.

Trim. Shaving makes it really fucking itchy when it grows back. Plus, it's a little precarious...

Ingrown hairs on the downstairs are not pleasant.

Therefore, trimming.

But only if I think something's going to happen...otherwise...fuck it? My face isn't anywhere near it and I'm cleanly enough for odors to not be an issue.

That said? I'll do it occasionally just because.

I think if you're expecting or hoping that oral sex will be a frequent occurrence than giving a bit of a trim is a kindness to make the experience more pleasurable for both of you, as givers and receivers. Not having long hair in your mouth is nice, but closer access for both your sensitive lips and their skin is beneficial either way around. Clean shaven is an effort and a half to maintain, and I wouldn't recommend bothering unless both parties are very averse to hair. But keeping it neat is little effort, and makes sex more enjoyable.

As an edit: Not a problem with OP, whom seems cool on trimming his bush, but I've met plenty of dudes who expect a runway and give a jungle. Not cool. Yeah, junk sticks out, where we need to get a lot closer to do anything, but a big bush hitting her nose ain't doing her any favours either.

Quality thread from a quality cat.

In any case, I trim, no unkept bush for me. Tried shaving a few times but it always ended up a disaster. Painful red bumps for a few days and then itching a few days after that.

I tend not to go at it unless I need to. Like if there's a pesky ingrown hair to get rid of I'll trim the area to get at it but otherwise, it's a jungle down there. Don't have any need to trim it all the way down or at all besides medically, not like anyone's doing a whole lot down there besides me.
