Since Kingdom Come: Deliverance has a Kickstarter now and we have more information about it, I would like to know you guys' opinion on this game. For those who don't know, Kingdom Come is a medieval RPG by the guys who made games like Mafia, ARMA, or Operation Flashpoint.

I've been following this project since the beginning and I'm really excited that it's officially a thing now. Since I love history and this game will take place in the history of my own country, I can't wait for it to come out. It will be a long wait, though. The game just sounds interesting. I like the fact that it's not going to be a fantasy RPG, meaning it won't have the elements a game like Dragon's Dogma would have - dragons, spells, and stuff like that. Although I don't have anything against a good fantasy RPG, a good historical RPG won't hurt.

From watching the trailer, I'm getting Witcher 2 vibes. Mind you, Witcher 2's world IS based medieval Poland, or more generally, medieval Central Europe, so this is understandable. Besides, I loved the Witcher 2 world.

Here's the Kickstarter for the game: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1294225970/kingdom-come-deliverance
And here's the official website of the game: http://www.kingdomcomerpg.com/

first thing that came to mind in the video: Either that's a tiny sword or a really big blackbird. I'm really wondering if the artist never seen a crow in his or her life, they have longer beaks with a curve, strait and short beaks are blackbirds.

ok other than that. It really looks like Mount and Blade with better graphics and higher production value. I did like the fact that cutting a purse is animated, that's a nice touch that I never seen. But I really don't see much, I like fantasy (or sci fi) in my RPGs; they help my immersion when dealing with the RPG elements since my suspension of disbelief is already on hold for the dragons and wizards.

still I hope they succeed, it would be nice to see more RPGs though I would prefer a good fantasy RPG.

Yeah I read about this game on Eurogamer a few days ago and I liked everything I read. What they try to do sounds absolutely fantastic. Not amazed by the character models in that video but the environments look stunning. However everything stands or falls with the combat for me and the fact they're taking cues from Dark Souls is a big plus. Can't wait to see more of this game.

I'll be backing it next Thursday, it has already reached it's goal but I'd like to show them my support and get a few goodies in the process.

It looks absolutely fucking fantastic. This genre that Mount & Blade has pioneered is still in its infancy, so its damn cool and fresh to see it slowly grow. What started as a single game has grown into a small niche with the likes of War of the Roses and Chivalry. While not as good as Mount & Blade, the spirit is there and the idea to continue to develop the genre is also there. Now we have the second Mount & Blade - Bannerlord as well as this new game coming along, and I think it might be enough, provided both are successful, to evolve this genre from a niche and into the mainstream gaming. Possibly.

I really dig this genre though, so it's certainly exciting for me. The idea of a purely-historic action RPG in an open medieval world is something I've been wanting for quite awhile, and I think Kingdom Come will deliver immensely in that regard.

It definitely looks interesting, but they are promising A LOT. Like, almost Peter Molyneux levels of promises. What the end product will look like I really cannot say, but I would be surprised if it really ends up as they've described it. Not to mention that the money they've raised is still just a drop in the bucket for this kind of game, so I'd like to know the size of their total budget including what their investor is giving them.

But hey, I would be fucking overjoyed if they proved me wrong and this turned out as fantastic is it looks. I know a buddy of mine is rather excited, as he hates fantasy and sci-fi but would love to play a good RPG.

Can be good, remaining hopeful about it.

Not to stereotype, but that's partly due to the devs: Eastern European devs are renowned for making absolute gold under tight conditions (see: The Witcher series, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. , Metro 2033 series).

I'm quite intrigued. I'm mostly indifferent to medieval settings (future, contemporary, and Victorian are more up my alley), but I'm liking the emphasis on realism. Historical settings have always been vastly underused.

I'm interested, but trying to contain my excitement. They are promising a lot with what they want to do. Besieging a bandit camp with an army at your back? Sounds awesome, but also sounds hard to make happen. I'll wait until I see more of the combat and exploration before I get really into it.

Could be great, but a couple things have me VERY wary.

Episodic content... really? Every 6-8 months they're release more of the "open world" for the player? I really don't like the sound of any of that. At all. It's basically paying for early access. I sense a lot of invisible walls in this game.

Also, if you look at the Kickstarter pledge levels, each and every one says you get access to "Digital copy of Act 1"... that sounds pretty dodgy there to me. It doesn't say "Digital Copy of all Acts as they become available". Even for the 40+ POUND pledges. I sense a lot of shitstorms in the future because that is a pretty scary way of wording things. Especially since they said there were going to be something like 8 acts?

Those two things are really setting off a lot of red flags for me.
