Poll: Your thoughts on Romania

Apart from Nicolae Ceauşescu, Transylvania and that shocking film Blood and Chocolate I don't know much.

Oh no wait, that's a lie!. Top Gear went to Romania and I learned that the Dacia Sandero is produced there and that the girls are hot.

Vampires, that?s all I know about Romania is that its where count Dracula came from.

I went to Transylvania a few years ago, and we asked locals where we could find Dracula's castle. We got directed to Dracula's Castle...Hotel. I guess that's what we get for traveling around in a rental car that is practically a billboard that screams "AMERICANS!"

Ok, I'm doing this as a study for my licence paper about people's perception of Romania, so be honest about it.
It doesn't really matter if you know ANYTHING about Romania,i just need some responses (especially in the poll)

-what do you know about it(in short)? What interests you about it? What would you like to see in it? What do you want it to be able to vitally provide for you (hotels, transportation etc.)

also i lived in romania for 14 years, i was born there, moved to the states when i was 14.

i really liked the layed back attitude in romania.

The countryside is poor, but not the Towns. Poverty really isn't an issue in towns.
(Keep in mind that I have lived in my home town since I was born and never moved, so I can't talk about otehr towns. I live in Targu Mures, by the way).

Well, hailing from the former U.S.S.R. I would like to visit all the former soviet-bloc nations and my girlfriend is actually half-Romanian, so, i'd take a look around, maybe go hiking around the Carpathian mountains. I'm really interested in old soviet-era landmarks and such, so Romania would be a very interesting place to visit for me.

what i know about Romania can be easily found in history/geography books. other than that the people i know from there are all pretty cool guys.

they used to and may still have a lot of hackers, due to a lack of extradition laws in the country. other than that there's not much i can really add and i doubt that's overly useful

Just watched an interesting movie about the street children of Bucharest called Children Underground...interesting so see how the country has been affected after the end of the Cold War.

I can only think of two things that come from Romania:

Dracula and Christian Chivu(who has a ridiculous shot on him)
