It seems to me that on most forums, post count is in correlation to forum influence, sometimes people tend to "look up" to those with a post count over 1000 (or 9000?! I had to). So what are your thoughts when you see someone with a post count around 1-10 thousand?

EDIT: I personally don't care, I just want to know what you think. Just in case people are getting the wrong idea. Also added the useless poll option that serves as comedic relief.

EDIT 2: How in the hell did 'Banana Sandwich Crazy Option' get more votes than the other 2 serious options?

Hmmm... It doesn't really trigger anything for me.
Just means they spend enough time here to get that post count.
I don't think bad of them for it, but neither will I raise them as a forum god.

People look up to me? Bullshit.

And I personally don't care. I care more about post quality instead of post count.

people look up to me?, i hope so, about time i got the respect i deserve.

but i think those who have a average post count of 15+ per day might value their opinion to much.

Not much, though I see the unusually large number and subconsciously take note of them. If I look up to a member, it's because of their personality and/or posts (for example, I liked Max because he was wonderfully narcissistic).

Also, their notability probably comes from their widespread presence, not just from a large number.

They are just another poster, people who condemn/praise others for their post count high or low need shut up about it and get on with posting themselves.

I dont see why it would matter. But it just means that they have placed more time interacting than you. Whether its because you read the posts already up more than add to the discussion yourself, there is no reason to really care.

Wow, every respondent has been a gonzo or higher. I think of myself as fairly verbose, but I can't imagine the amount of time you must devote to build your counts to where they are now. Part of me is impressed, and part thinks they need some variance in their hobbies.

I always figured that it meant that were just someone who's dedicated to the escapist, and not somebody merely posting since it could be considred the "flavour of the month"

I don't pay attention to post count. I only look at them when someone does something obviously against the rules at which point I will think "oh, 4 posts. Makes sense".
