Rarely.

If a game is good, I will buy it. But the few games that I do get illegal copies of, I would never buy in the first place.
I follow the very same rules. I admit I pirated Crysis at the time but I never would have bought it (it wouldn't work on my computer).

I also used to pirate old games until I came upon GoG

There are plenty of old games and all DRM free!

if you want to play a game, you have to pay for it. it's really that simple. there is no grey area in stealing something that doesn't belong to you.
errr file sharing isn't stealing (look it up in the dictionary), and there is a grey area. I hardly ever pirate games because unlike music and tv shows there really no reason for it, but if the devoloper is going to put DRM on it then fuck them they don't deserve my money. their being dicks and so it is only right that they lose some money and hopefully learn from it and remove the DRM in the future.

I never pirate games and I suppose I'm against it, developers work hard for years to make them and it's only right to pay the admission fee, just read up on the game first to make sure it's worth it for you.
EA don't work hard for years.

They release half-assed games that last the half they were ment to.

Ubisoft, Valve, Blizzard. They work years to make a good game. Okay, two latter ones, because Ubisoft is getting worse every time they release something.

But then again, I refuse to buy any Valve game until they get a brain and stop ripping off Europe people.
Valve rip Europeans off? I wasn't really aware and I'm form Europe(Ireland), are the games cheaper across the pond? Harmonix on the other hand they definately rip us off.

You really didn't notice how they changed the prices from $50 to 50 EUR and added VAT even for countries that don't have VAT on digital purchases? And how some games are 4 times more expensive at Steam than in a retail shop?

i would pirate old games that i would only get off of ebay...in a sense you are not hitting the industry that way as these games are not intended for sale after they have been bought anyway

but still piracy is stealing, I accept that

plus i like the feeling of owning a legit copy, gaming is a massive part of my life and i like to spend money on it, its like my crack!
