Then why are we playing by Twilight rules? With drinking a little blood turning them into vampires.

Why not Vampire the Masquerade, Buffy or True Blood rules which require draining of the blood and replacement with vampire blood? That way you can suck some blood from the person without killing or turning them. Only making them anaemic.

Not sure it's an entirely twilight thing, but yeah I think in twilight vampires infect people with venom or something, they seem to go with the highly evolved creature angle rather than the cursed by god angle (which I personally enjoy).

Seriously though, I actually am called a vampire. I have a pale complexion, my teeth have that fang appearance, albeit much smaller and I have a dislike of the sun and prefer dark or dim rooms. So besides a murderous bloodlust...

Well, I'm a step ahead of you then. Oh, wait... there's also my allergy to sunlight, due to having little-to-no melanin in my skin. It takes me seconds to burn on a hot day.

I guess it depends entirely on how awesome (or not) it is being a vampire. If I was nothing but a shambling monster, forever denied any meaningful human contact then why precisely would I curse another with the condition?
