One of my favorite movies ever is American History X, an great statement on poverty and racism in America, and I would suggest anybody view it. (It's a bit graphic though, not for the tots.)

Top 5...? Too much effort, I'm just going to say 'Jurassic Park' (which is my favorite film) because as a kid I loved it so dearly because of the dinosaurs in it and now I'm older and love classical music I can appreciate the main theme a lot more... ahhh, nice.

The Good the Bad and the Ugly. It is Clint Eastwood in the role he is meant to play, a bad-ass cowboy who doesn't talk much. As far as physical acting Eastwood is good, but as soon as he starts talking things start degrading. The story is good, so it the rest of the acting.
And the music? Well, I want to have its babies.

Fight Club comes to mind. Not only is the writing and character designs some of the best, but I love it when Ol' Edward Norton breaks the fourth-wall.

Shawshank Redemption.

Why is it a classic?

Because its a masterpiece in every single sense of the word, the acting, the story, the script, the soundtrack, the directing...Everything is great.

All in all its a pretty flawless movie, and im just one of many people who think so:

It's the Nr. 1 movie of all time, and has been voted so by 419,126 people over on IMDB with a rating of 9.1/10.

I couldn't possibly pin down a favourite film, though Memento, Evil Dead 2 and The Big Lebowski each have equal kudos for me. If I was looking to talk about the most powerful film though, I'd probably say Requiem For A Dream. That film scarred me.

Escape From New York. I just love everything about it: the theme song, the introduction using vector graphics, the acting, the plot, the pacing, (especially) the setting and atmosphere, the occasional comic relief that doesn't take away from the atmosphere of the movie, etc.

Mine would either have to be Fellowship of the Ring or Shawnshank Redemption. N0.1 war film is Apocalypse Now. No.1 Crime film is The Godfather. N0.1 Animated film is WALL.E. No.1 Comic book-based film is The Dark Knight. No.1 Sci-fi film is The Matrix. No.1 Horror film is the Shining. No.1 Action film is Die Hard.

Well I never compiled the list past 3 but here goes

1.Pulp Fiction, absolutely love the movie, even if the plot may be a little hard to follow at first, but it grabs you and doesn't let go

2.American History X, Just a great movie really

3. Gran Torino, I was pleasantly surprised at how good this movie actually was

4. I guess would be The Dark Knight, absolutely wonderful film to be honest

5. Hmmmm, Well I don't really know but give me time and I'll find one
