Youtube has possibly become the most overused website in the history of the world (besides possibly Google), one of the main reasons is because of the sheer diversity of videos that are available to watch for free.
Despite this, there are many videos that are very annoying, they may instruct you in the creation of viruses or how to hack and torrent a game or a program.
What is your opinion of this infamous website?

That's where I find all my clip-based responses.

The "original" videos tend to be utter shit, though.

One can find a lot of different stuff on that stupid site. My "My Favorites" is littered with weird shit from all over the world. Plus there are tons of Hollywood movies on that site that are broken up into 10-minute segments (for instance: Army of Darkness).

I find a lot of music via youtube, so I'm all for it. I don't even have an account though, because I just find most of the comments people leave to be utter drivel.

Music videos, some machinima and then some random things that are awesome. (i think it was internet Kraken who posted the 'Shepard is a such a jerk' video, that had me laughing for ages. Then there was the sequel to that video...)

I'm confused as to if this is a serious question or not, but assuming that you took the time to post it, I guess I'll play along.

Youtube has done so much for the internet. From being something that you hop onto whenever you're bored and want to hunt for something random and funny, to also allowing people to experience something everyday and furthermore if you ever need to know something, it also falls under educational.

Whenever I was unsure of how to do something, Youtube was 2 clicks away. I'm actually waiting for my Photoshop degree from the University of youtube. [small] As you can see by my Avatar [/small]

It gives a lot of smaller companies and crews like 4 player podcast, and college humor a chance to throw their name out there without spending a lot of money on advertising, and allowing us to view their clips for nothing other than a monthly internet bill that doesn't even go to them... [small] For free in otherwords [/small]

Sure it has it's down sides, like that one japanese girl that feels the need to make 500 billion videos of her staring very creepily into her probably $10,000,000 camera. Not to mention the millions of stupid shit posted daily by people who think they are funny but sadly realize they aren't after 8 months that the only people viewing their videos are themselves... But once you overlook that and bypass the stupidity that people feel the need to swamp the site with, there is a lot of cool things that you can watch that sort whatever needs you may have at any given time.

I only use it for music, movie trailers, movie clips, older TV shows, and for video game walk-throughs.

Commenting is something I stay away from, as is everything else that's not listed above. So, yay.

I like youtube.
It can be very handy as a tool, and for entertainment.

There are some handy technical guides, and good user video reviews and product tests that sometimes are hard to describe in simple text.

For example, this morning I stumbled across a Gear4 Blackbox Micro Speaker for quite cheap (£7), but there wasn't many reviews.
Then I searched it up on youtube, and I found this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KsCqtxeS6ao[/youtube]

As you can see the product seemed pretty neat, (I wanted a nice speaker for my lappy, as I run my xbox through it via a capture card), so I straight up bought one today.

(I try to aim to minimize space consumption on my desk, as I need the study space, and a TV is likely to be too big to fit on the desk as well. Plus I don't have an ipod, so I don't care if it requires a USB connection)

Plus youtube is a handy upload tool to listen to VG remixes, (even OCRemix use youtube as a preview now!), and on occasion some funny stuff ends up on there.

Youtube is awesome. But some of its users are really immature and pretty mean spirited.

It has it's uses and is a great repository of vids. But for every 5 useful clips and videos there are 50 clips of crap, illegal crap, immoral crap and crap made by simple people who shouldn't be allowed to breed.

I still have to say YAY though.

YouTube is the root of all evil. No just kidding. But still, 99% of the videos I see contain flame wars.

OBJECTION!!! (Yeah, I don't have the image)
OT: Yay, why not. It's a very good site.
Their policies are shit, yes, but the site is still good.

It is too useful for me to hate.
It can help me unlock formerly lost memories.
And I can share good videos with others.
Such as...
Hehehehehe...
