Open-world game. I played RDR most recently. I'm really fine with that, since my fav games are all open-world/sandbox games 
Well technically, the last game I played was Scrabble. Oh snap. Now my life has been ruined. But otherwise, the last game I played was Team Fortress 2, which is fine by me, even though I'm a little sad that I have to lose all those lovely, lovely RPGs. Oh well, I can live with playing FPSs until the end of time.
Final Fantasy IX. I would quite enjoy a loose interpretation of the RPG genre, I'm sure that would keep me busy for quite a while. But if we're talking about a strict interpretation like nothing but pure "your guys in a line on one side of the battlefield, enemies on the other... ok now take turns running up, smacking them, then running back to your spot, lather, rinse, and repeat", I'd probably be cool with it for like a week or two and then kill myself.
Luckily, if it falls into the RPG genre, you could play it. You could even get away with Mass Effect and Fallout, if swords and typical rpg fantasy stuff became boring. ^_^Indignation837 said:

That's what I'd call the loose interpretation. I'm currently playing and really, really enjoying Fallout 3, and Oblivion is like my favoritest game of all ever, so I like that theory.King of the Sandbox said:

damn I'm stuck with retro patformers/shooters cause the last game I played was Contra III I'm so sad, cause I'm so very very bad at them and get frustrated easily, besides I'm not inclined to any one genre I kinda like them all and feel like I don't prefer any in particular
VTMB. So RPGs? Fine with me, they have the most hours of gameplay and a lot of amazing games, so I'm set. Plus, for social aspects I still get MMOs.
The last game i played was littlebigplanet so i think i would get off lightly because you can play that game for pretty much forever.
Borderlands so yay I can play either FPSs or RPGs, hello Mass Effect, Bioshock, MW2, Black Ops, Halo Reach etc....
