It would be interesting to see the two switch, for sure. I have no doubt that Yahtzee could in fact offer some serious insight in the world of gaming, especially in STARTING ONE. *side cough* And I have no doubt that The Extra Creditz gang could offer some jovial critique (or not depending on the case...) on more than one video game. So on both ends, this one-day switch could only be a plus.

This would be entertaining indeed. Though I'd bet the EC crew couldn't bring themselves to be as harsh as Yahtzee, seeing as they actually work in the industry and have stated before that it is a lot smaller than you might think, so the next time they saw someone who worked on the game they blasted things would be really awkward, and just think if James had to work _with_ that person.
Haha! True, that could be a little awkward. Still especially with the level of designer knowledge I would like to see what they would critique about a game.
Well, they were pretty harsh towards God of War III...

For the people that say that it would be too out of character for the people [Extra credits being vitrolic, or Yahtzee being poignant],

Remember that Yahtzee isn't just a reviewer. He's been putting in work by writing about games, making the, and dealing with the world of gaming. I bet you he could give a very good speech on how to make games better, though it would somewhat destructive, saying that if games became good, there would be less for him to rant about.

And if you don't think James Portnow, who has been in in the gaming industry for decades, or Daniel or Alison can't be angry? Try working on a game that is original and fun, or having a great idea in your head get shot down, because your funding got cut for 'generic beat-em-up 7'. I bet they have more than enough for an episode.

Amusing yes I doubt the Extra Credits guys, even though I love them and watch them, would be able to grasp the true cynicism that being a game reviewer like Yahtzee brings but it would be nice to hear a new spin on the commentary.
I hate to be finicky, but Yahtzee is a critic, not a reviewer, as he regularly states. He reviews things, but in his reviews are critiquing games, not reviewing them in the same way MovieBob reviews films.

OT: I can see how it would be amazing, but at the same time, I can see all of the potential ways it could come crashing down.
In all, I say leave it up to the escapist staff, Yahtzee and the EC team to decide on their own, if they even look at this.

Oh god that would be epic. But I would want it to be like the ZP/Unskip cross over. Yhatzee show up in the EC episode (imagine Yhatzees character EC form) and then the EC team tries to only to fail and get killed by Yhatzee who goes on his actual review. XD

The solution is simple: Have Extra Credits review a game so horrible that whoever headed the project at the very least deserves no respect.

Case in point: Ninjabread Man, Splatterhouse, Kane & Lynch, Bobby Kotick. I know that last one isn't a game, but I said "deserves no respect" and it just came out.

In my opinion, the Extra Credit guys do nothing more than state the blatantly obvious. The only real appeal to them from what I see is the fact that they talk in a very polite manner and tends to act more professional. However, their main flaw is that they claim to take a deeper look into games even though the stuff they talk about is something even the common gamer would be well aware of. At the expense of being called harsh, they act pretentious and tries to make something a lot more complicated than it is. Don't get me wrong, they have a few decent episodes, but the rest are nothing amazing.

Zero Punctuation is rather troll-like, but Yahtzee is an entertainer, and he's good at that. He doesn't act professional nor does he try to be very logical, but at times, he does actually present good points that makes sense. He doesn't try to make it more complicated than it needs to be, when he does make points, he's very clear about them and doesn't need to go off at tangents.

TL;DR, no crossover, they don't fit together at all.
