why is there no podcast of the zero punctuation videos?

can anybody tell me? it would draw a whole lot more attention to escapist magazine if they were to say, put a podcast up on iTunes or the internet or something. or even make people buy the videos - FOR FUCK SAKE WHY ISN'T THERE A PODCAST?

Oh...

They'd like to bring all the traffic to the Escapist, i guess. And sorry for voting "no" - i didn't know you can do a video podcast.

I think that's just asking too much of the lazy Austraillian who doesn't even have enough time to put actual effort into his videos./sarcasm

besides, his vids are already about 5 minutes long, what more do you want?

Wouldn't his current videos be the same as a video pod-cast?

EDIT: Wouldn't making his videos downloadable be the same as a video pod-cast? :D

i agree with EspirituExterminatus, yahtzee is a bit too much all the time, but a whole escapist podcast would be awesome

I don't know about a solo podcast, but Yahtzee does make the odd guest appearance on Australian Gamer's podcast. It's not as scripted or as visual as ZP (obviously), but Yahtzee can be just as witty and hilarious even when he's drunk and comparing Sonic games to drinking a glass of piss.

That said, I'd still love to be able to get ZP on my iPod, but I can't really see that happening.

Because... there isn't one? I mean it's not like there needs to be a podcast, like it's some kind of requirement or something. But now that you bring it up yahtzees "extra punctuation" follow up articles that he does for his episodes would probably make good podcasts, but I had never really thought of it until this point.

It'd never happen. Zero punctuation brings a hell of a lot of traffic to The Escapist and if it were available they'd probably lose quite a bit of advertising revenue.

They can't do a podcast because then people would put the videos up on other websites and the Escapist would have to go through the bother of getting them taken down. Also people don't usually buy stuff they can see for free on the internet especially not something like ZP maybe something like There Will Be Brawl or UR people would buy but not ZP.

Aren't podcasts of shows meant to be a condensed version of the regular show, like all the best bits without the adverts & commercial whatnots?

Wouldn't a Zero Punctuation podcast just be a condensed version of a 5 minute video with all the references to games taken out, just leaving all the best swear words and funny phrases?

I think there should defiantly be video podcasts to download. But also a discussion podcast between Yatzhee and the guys from Australian gamer would also be good. But maybe its a bit too much work for Yatzhee i mean he creates a video every week. I just hope he carries on what hes doing for along time to come.
