you CANNOT have anything except a shotgun. its simply not RIGHT to kill a zombie with anything else. if i killed a zombie with something other than a shotgun i'd feel ashamed of myself as well as guilty for the zombie

If we're talking about the dumb version of the zombie, then I'd like to make use of my cheat strategy (although it's not a weapon):
A ladder
Step one: Climb up somewhere like a roof by using the ladder
Step two: Pull ladder up so roof is inaccessible for anyone down there
Step three: Wait it out
I'd survive until the horde of zombies waiting for me downstairs died out and the bodies stacked up so high that they could just climb the bodies. Fire might come in handy to burn the pileup...
But if I had to choose a weapon, it would have to be a sniper of some sorts. Max distance possible, thank you. (I'm not man enough to even dare enter CQB with a zombie, I'd chicken out)

Have any of you read the Zombie Survival guide? It says that using a semi auto rifle is the best idea compared to a Assault Rifle or a bolt action, same exact power but you are able to control your fire and able to fire as fast as you want. But the crowbar is unbeatable in close quarters. So this is a toss up for me. 
If the random object happens to be a holy Avenger + 16....
But realistically I'd take semi-automatic/assault rifle. It's got stopping power, accuracy, and *usually* has a good supply of ammo.

I chose the random item because the improvisation would be stylish, and because "Chainsaw you cut off and replaced your own hand with" wasn't an option. Ash Williams is Awesome.
crowbar because u can swing and stab your way through hordes of the undead. but i would also use a shotgun do to the fact that your average untrained zombie does tend to be a bit bitey
Generally, you don't want to fight zombies. Crowbar makes a great, reliable backup weapon, and also has utilitarian uses from barring a door to breaking into places. However, if were talking fast zombies, I would go with a semi auto rifle. Bolt action reload would be terrible when your getting mobbed, and a rifle puts down zombies in the most reliable fashion, from the longest range. When fast zombies are attacking, you need that bad. When you have to deal with them that fast, you can't patiently swing a crowbar, you need the speed and range of a gun. Ideally, you would have both, and a small piston in case you are grabbed and mobbed, don't have the space to draw the rifle, or the leverage to swing the crowbar

Bayonets. Yes; on a shotgun. Or a chainsaw-bayonet. Or just skip the whole gun thing and use a chainsword. Attach a flamer to a chainsword and you can beat as many zombies as you want.Yokai said:
