What makes you think a basement is more defensible? Remember, the undead do not tire so almost any door you have blocking their access will eventually be knocked down. A basement would eventually be overtaken if you give them long enough. An attic, on the other hand, is almost impossible for the undead to access. Zombies lack the coordination to climb so if your house has one of those attics that just have a trap door that you pull down to get in then if you close it the undead will not even realize you're there. They will break into the house, search for prey, and then leave. You can stay in your attic as long as your supplies hold out.

I would drive my car to my father in laws house where he has a hefty gun stash. Then we, Or just me, would drive/fight my way to the supermarket and load up on canned goods and food. Get gas. and go north!

Anyhow, I'd hide in the basement of a pub. Cos it'd have like 3 exits, and shotguns. And beer.

Wouldn't hide in any of those places (but here's hoping the zombies would eat Sarah Palin)--I would much rather keep moving around. Hopefully, I could get to the countryside but I wouldn't want to stay in one place.

In my town there is an old Gaol (Jail) it's hundreds of years old, and basically a mini castle. Thick wood and Iron doors and 3 feet thick walls. It's near shops too so I can go out for groceries or whatever. Feel free to join me as it's way better than a shopping mall, or Alaska.

I would find a place like a mall, kick some zombie ass.. and clean out the mall, and live there.

but if i have to choose attic or basement, would i totally go for attic, basements scare me enough as it is!
