The show has made a good impact on me. Though, it may be different from the rest of you.
It taught me a lot. Anything else was simply re-enforced.

Now, I'm not talking about the blatantly-obvious lessons that are spelled out for you at the end of nearly episode.
I'm talking about something more indirect.

This series showed me just how important it is to design characters with numerous unique traits and flaws, along with fleshing them out and keeping them consistent. It showed me how much fun being politically-incorrect can be. It showed me how you can totally have a really high-caliber story and sequence of events going on, without being all dedgyark. You can have everything be all bright and candy-colored, and it can still be totally awesome. You don't need to drop the F-Bomb every two minutes (and other similar actions), just to get older audiences to find any enjoyment. It showed how you can have constant references to other works without losing your identity in the process. It showed that you can have some really nice characters that don't treat everyone around them like dirt. It showed a good structure in securing a timeless setting. It showed how you can identify so well with characters that look nothing like you. (Ha! Take that, AAA-Industry!)

All of this has been very important to me, as these are things I need to keep in mind, as I continue my journey in designing videogames. I want some good stories that will actually be meaningful. And My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic has been very clear on so many techniques you can use to get your adventure up to that point.

This what bugs me people that state that they hate something but not give a real reason why.
"Oh I hate the show but I never watch it" is a terrible excuse.

Now if you saw the show and did not like it, that is fine you gave it a shot and decided it was not for you.

Hell I didn't like the show at first, but I decided to watch some of it so I have material I can use to pick it apart, but oddly the more I watched the more I liked the show.

MLP fandom makes more sense to me than the Vocaloid fans, and I think the vocaliod Windows PC software is crap, but at least I installed and tried to use the voicaliod brand voice synthesizer. And I gave the songs and music videos a shot, it isn't bad but I am not going to run out and buy a Hatsune Miku figure.

If you really don't want to give the show a shot, okay fine; but do not try to give everyone else grief for what they like. If you watch the show and do not like it, fine as well do not watch any more. But don't go saying the show is shit and refuse to hear anything about it.

Started watching in October of last year. Have now seen every episode and am the proud owner of a Doctor Who x MLP shirt. I don't know how it's change my life. I suppose it has influenced me to be more open and accepting of other peoples beliefs. Although that could just be me growing up a little.

At first, I thought MLP was the stupidest thing ever conceived, and when I heard the term brony, I almost puked at the thought of the term. However, everything changed one day... I was on youtube seeing if any of my subscriptions had updated when I saw on my favorite top ten-er Joshscorcher's channel this video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjM6t4DmUPE&feature=g-user-u

The following night consisted of me watching every episode I could before I fell asleep due to exhaustion. I was hooked, and while I would NEVER call myself a brony, I do thing the show is worthwhile. It isn't the best, but it sure is better than most of the junk currently airing on TV.

It's done? Good, I'll watch it on youtube now. Might come back and edit in my thoughts, but for now, my favorite things spawned from MLP are Cupcakes and this [http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL94A83DC128CC6B4B&feature=plcp]. Still, not bad for a kids' show. I'd recommend it for my nephews, but I'm sure my brother wouldn't appreciate it. The one thing I dislike intensely in MLP is the musical numbers, and my brother pretty much shares my (dis)taste in certain musical styles. I'm sure the boys would be playing that shit over and over and over...

**edit**
Finished finally... gotta say, it was better than the first season overall, though the ham-handed application of
seriously. [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ThePowerOfLove]
in the final episode made me roll my eyes repeatedly. Still, the mere fact that I cared enough to be bothered by that tells me they did something very right with most if the season.

Oh, also... I noticed mention of Rocket to Insanity in the comments of one of the vids and gave it a read. Good stuff. I recommend it to any fan of Cupcakes.

I watched the show. Its ok but i just can't get past some of the super fanatics who shove their brightly colored shirts in my face, while screaming how much they just LOVE the show. This is why I no longer watch it. I might go back and watch it after said people have moved on to ruining something else.

This post marks the moment I gave in. I've avoided it for too long, I need to see what this is all about. (as I do love 90s Cartoon Network shows and apparently this show is a homage to them?) I'm also partial to a bit of a spongebob (by "partial" I mean I have seasons 1-4 on dvd... it got shitty after season 4)

Someone tell me what you think is the very BEST episode of MLP, and I'll give it a shot. I'll maybe watch 2 eps if the first one doesn't grab me. I'm officially open to being converted now. Come at me.

Well my fine friends, season two of "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" is over. We won't be seeing anymore ponies until around the end of the year. So how have ponies affected your life? Have you held the line, staying pony free? Or have you, like me, completely given up and let the ponies wash over you, consuming you into the herd, so now it takes up almost all your free time and money? Have fun kids, and don't burn down the forums please. They don't come cheap you know.
I have continued to enjoy Bronyvid's awesome mashups on Youtube without ever seeing the actual show. So, same same here.

I would love to know how he does the lipsync though. That's fantastic.

I suppose I fall right into the middle. I enjoy the show, and I think it's fun. There's no reason to go crazy because of it though. They're cartoon ponies guys, and there's no reason to be extreme about them at either end of the spectrum.
Although, I have fallen behind and I intend to do a mareathon with my friend to get caught up all the way.

EDIT: I also forgot the mention the pony artistic community is simply amazing. Drawing, sewing, music, you name it. You'll run into some really cool stuff.

Eh, it's overrated and half the time the bronies I've met are just jumping the "I'm a guy watching a little girls show. How ironic!" bandwagon. honestly if I were going to watch anything like that I'd stick to Adventure Time.

Season 2 was pretty good. Better than season 1 in some regards, worse in others. There was more range between good and shitty compared to season 1.

I haven't spent any money on the show however, (and am confused by the mentality of people who do), and haven't followed it apart from watching all the episodes, and going on Equestria Daily for comics, (no time for fan fiction), and sometimes ponychan.

But what I want to talk about is this: Season 2 made life for ponies look more advanced and modern. You now have cranes, hospitals, damns, a printing press, a Priest, legitimate baby ponies, the more frequent use of trains, as well as a smaller regard for dangerous monsters affecting the ponies, though this is still apparent, etc

One of the reasons why I liked the show was how quaint life was, how it was simple and to a degree, old fashioned. I don't want to see the show become about 6 ponies that live in Ponytropilis and listen to music on their I ponies, where the children play hooves of War, and where elected politicians are more important than the monarchs.

I just want their lives to remain simple. Anybody else know this feel?

it depends. Lesson zero (season 2, episode 3) is a good one for the humor and some total Wtf moment (insane twilight, fluttershy "killing" a bear), as well as party of one. Dragonshy is a good adventure one. Or if you just want to start from the beginning to get the whole story, you could always do that, though if you do, I would recommend giving it a couple episodes before making your decision (the pilot doesn't have the best track record). The season 2 premiere (Return of harmony prts 1 & 2) could also be a good jumping off point. Actually, I would recommend giving the show a couple episode chance regardless.

Here are some of my favorites:
Dragonshy
Swarm of the century
Party of one
Return of harmony (pts 1 & 2)
Sisterhooves social

There are others, but those are the ones off the top of my head. Anyway, glad your giving the show a go. Even if you end up not liking it, at least you still gave it a fair chance. And if you do end up liking it, then that's awesome.

As it shows in my avatar, I watch the show. That's as far as I go. I don't buy merchandise because they're toys and I picture it to be embarrassing to buy them. The creepier ones that do clop-fic or buy fleshlights. I'm into the brony community because it's the single most creative and welcoming community than any other I've seen or encountered my entire life. Where in Pokemon, you'd get the occasional troll who trades you his ever-stone Haunter or a Magikarp egg. In the MLP community, they'd make a pretty damn cool drawing or even make a free-MMO.

The last one
There was nothing I could do
They came out of no where
They washed over me like a tidal wave with maximum force
As my internet persona they have effected me greatly, many things I do on the internet now revolve around them
In my real life, nothing, I don't even dare say the words
But after the first few episodes, I knew I was bound to be stuck, in a good way.

Well, honestly, I've been considering getting a couple pony t shirts. No toys here for me, but if I like something, I'm willing to spend a little money in support of what I like, as well as showing off my interests. In that regard, its no different than, say, Lord of the Rings or Doctor Who (using those examples because I've got a LOTR poster and a Doctor Who poster hanging in my room, as well as a map of middle earth).

But to answer your actual question, I have noticed that a little, but I've kinda shrugged it off and attributed it to the versatile nature of the world. Heck, in one of the earliest episodes we had pinkie flying some weird flying machine. But I honestly don't think they'll push the technology too far and complicate things. It is, after all, still a kids show. They'll still keep things fairly simple

OMG WHUT NO WAY HOW CAN U SAY S2 IS BETTER DAN S1!?!?111

No, I'm glad to see someone finally taking season 2 into account for how good it was, and not looking at the negatives to how it compared to season 1
Totally agree, some episodes were above Season 1 standard, and some were below, many people just look at the ones below.
