Popular games that you hate (or at least really don't like)

Bioshock, a whole game based around fed-ex quests and a 'story' that's universially praised despite being very thin on the ground. Also poor moral choices, "Beat the puppy with a pipe, or hug him?" etc.

I never really got into Oblivion, despite loving Fallout 3. I guess guns do make a big difference (but, to be fair, I haven't really given it a chance). That being said, I've never played a popular game that I really didn't like. I suppose I never really got what was so great about Halo, and Gears of War never appealed to me either.
Oh my ... it's like... we're on the same wavelength. Please let me sit in your shadow. Please?

I have to admit I never really 'got' Call of Duty as a series mostly because of it's effort to be realistic. I much prefer games on the calibre of Halo where I'm blasting through space battling aliens and such things, it just feels a little more out there for me.
I can certainly see how Call of Duty would appeal to someone but it isn't for me.

I'll just re-post what I had from the last thread like this about 8 days ago

Half Life 2, now hear me out, the story does seem generally interesting but the vehicle sections are not too good, the levels look bland(ladders were hard to find but that's my bad eyesight not the games fault)and it was just not interesting enough to keep going.

Mass Effect,The characters were not too interesting, the combat was shaky, my teammates were always in the way and I felt like I was always running out of upgrade points too fast. Also the side planets I visited were lack luster, same goes for the story it just couldn't grip me.

Mind I don't have a burning hate for these games just a disappointed kind of hate

I could never understand the appeal of the Gears of War series. It's probably the wrong sort of homoerotic characterisation for me.

Psychonauts.

I don't really hate it, I just have a conflicting combination of frustration & disappointment with it.

Halo also for me I'm afraid. Also Guitar Hero/Rock Band et al. I really can't stand those games because they seem so pointless. If my friends spent half the time they spend on GH learning how to play the actual guitar they'd be out-fretting Steve Vai in no time.

Halo wars... I hated it. Took it back after the 3rd mission
Also GTA 4. No new GTA game could ever live up to San Andreas

I gotta say, I did not see that one coming...

L4D is my choice. Very ho-hum to me even with friends.

There comes a point in everyone's life where you've seen enough stuff with zombies that it takes more than just having zombies to make it good.

Well I don't like the Halo games because I hate the multiplayer community of Halo, I don't like any of the Grand Theft Auto games they make me bored too quickly even if I play the story mode, the Resident Evil series I have 1, 2, 3 and 4, played 0 and played 5 I don't like any of them can't stand the awkward controls and I don't like the story, World of WarCraft because it's like paying for a job and also because I resent it beacause I bought WarCraft 3 Battlechest and inside was WoW, the Soul Calibur series not sure why, most Final Fantasy games but not every single one I like 6, 5, 4 and the FF Tactics ones and last the Rock Band/Guitar Hero games just not my type of game I guess.

PS: The reason I have so many RE games even though I don't like them is because my brother loves them.
PSS: Also I do not hate all of these games in fact I only hate Halo cause I can't stand it's community the other ones I just don't like but not hate

The Halo games, well, I love the campaigns of all 3 (not ODST, that sucked) but the multiplayer is just complete bullshit imo.

To be honest i think the game is overrated

the plot is boring its just like gordon is going to point a to point but then point b is moves with no information why

the npcs are hard to connect with or why i should care that they die or not

i dont exactly agree that i should fill in the blanks with gordon we have the game designers for that

im not saying its horrible it must be good somehow lots and lots of people like it but i'll give it 2.5 out of 5 in my scale which is a great big meh
to further expand my argument it was extremly linear so much so if it was more linear it would be a rail shooter

being linear isnt bad but half-life's linearity is bad type for usually it would have a epic cut scene that would make my jaw drop(i.e. cod4's atomic explosion when you were thinking you would go to the next mission)

also again with me having to fill gordon's character that there is no impact on the story whatsoever
the point of having a fixed character is to step into thier shoes because you want to get as far away from your real life as possible and be someone else for a while

one last thing, stop saying freeman deserved it because he saved the world because almost all games today are all about saving the world
