The Twilight series (though maybe that goes without saying).

I also despise the entire modern pop genre, though since I can't describe everything I hate about it here at once, I'll summarize it to my dislike of Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and Ke$ha

None of the 3 have ever produced a good (or even decent) song.

2 of them don't seem to have the ability to write any kind of decent music.

1 of them can't even sing properly.

Free cookies to the person who can guess which is which.

Metal, though to be fair it's not nearly as popular outside of the internet.

I don't know, men screaming incoherently doesn't interest me all that much, and don't link me anything saying it's different because it never is, i've probably only found two bands that could be considered metal that I like and neither band actually has a singer.
thanks alot, real bugs were on the screen as i read your post, so your pic kept me occupied for several minuets

Football/soccer/rugby, all popular sports that get overglorified.
I hate how their players get millions, while scientists/ people who make the world a better place get barely anything.
Also, the stupid news.
I don't give a crap about Kim Kardashian's wedding or divorce. And how was it $10 million?

Anything that is massively popular really. I feel I need to hate things to balance out everyone else loving them so much.

Let's get the obvious out of the way, first, shall we? I detest CoD, GTA, Madden, most of today's music, especially pop and rap, most rap music in general, The Simpsons, Apple, Facebook, and Twilight.

Oh, you wanted less obvious things to be listed? Fine, but just for you.

Blizzard Entertainment, the newer shows on Cartoon Network, Xbox Live, American football, the current movie industry and its pretentious stars, and finally, most fast food restaurants (I eat healthy almost all the time, so they are my worst enemy in terms of quality to nutrition ratio).

But above all? I hate stupid people, especially the willfully ignorant.

EDIT: Jesus Christ, I just realized how much of a spiteful bastard I really am.
hey, you can't say that here, that doesn't count for this thread. he said it had to be irrational. it's very rational to hate just about everything up there.

OT: i can't think of a damn thing that i hate for no reason. i hate plenty of things, but i have a damn good reason to hate each and every one of them. i guess i can list things i hate like the guy above me. all of what he said besides simpsons, apple, and blizzard. bitches. people that try to act ghetto. hipsters. hypocrites, my god do i hate hypocritical people. people that try and force ideas on others. plenty of shit that i can't think of at the moment

I suppose Lady Gaga's quite talented, but seriously, screw Beyoncé.
My main problem with Beyoncé is that she is capable of writing a half-decent song, and yet what she actually does write and perform these days is terrible. Her song 'Crazy in love' was (at least in my own opinion) about as good as pop gets these days (Except for the rap sections).
In terms of hatred, I guess I'm not one to hate things irrationally. Well, that said I do have an irrational hatred for banana skins, but I don't think that's quite what we're talking about.
Oh, one other thing: I cannot for the life of me stand people who hate things because it's the popular thing to do, for example Call of Duty haters (I'm not saying all people who hate CoD are like this, nor am I defending CoD). I met a guy who loudly vocalised how shit all mainstream shooters were (Mainly CoD and Gears of War) and completely ignored any of my rational arguments. he then proceeded to admit that he had played neither of these games, he had 'Just thought it was the done thing'. I mean honestly, how pathetic is that?
TL;DR I hate people who hate things without ever having tried them for themselves.

I'm going to generalize a few just so that way this post doesn't go on forever...
Justin Beiber, Lady Gaga, Twilight, a good 99.9% of reality tv shows, celebrities that don't do much to get famous and pull stupid stunts to stay in the news...

Those last two could have kept me typing all night...

I'll see your list and raise you a Jeff Smith, Stan Sakai and a Roger Langridge.

One of my main problems with DC and Marvel, much as I love them, is that they don't do nearly enough to cultivate a more diverse fanbase, and don't take enough creative risks.

And now I really want to see Yoshitaka Amano draw Spider-Man, which will almost certainly never happen. Thanks for that.
Jeff Smith (Oooh, yes, Bone!) and Stan Sakai (Usagi Yojimbo!) I'm both familiar with, but Roger Langridge is new. DC and Marvel don't bother because they've already conquered a fanbase. As long as they don't step horrendously out of line, things like One More Day or the War of Light are going to sell.

While I personally enjoyed the War of Light, I thought that the characterizations weren't steady. Larfleeze started out as a genuinely threatening character, and yet by the time Atrocitus rolls around, he's reduced to comic relief and stuck in a derpy partnership with Lex Luthor. And now he's kicking it in some shack he build out of junk, just outside of a small Michigan town. The most he's done in the past year is discover the true meaning of Christmas, for God's sake. Where's the threatening, gluttonous monstrosity that threatened to consume all in its path?

Oh, right. Instead we get "Happy Fun Time with Glomulus and Gonzo- I mean, Larfleeze!"

As for One More Day? Don't get me started on One More Day. Joe Quesada needs to die a painful death.

Why take creative risks when you can just reboot the whole darned thing and both placate the old fans and please the new?

This is a personal pick, but my list should've also included Steve Purcell. Just because Sam and Max weren't like anything else out there, until LucasArts ate them up and spat them out. At least now, they're back in caring hands. Telltale seems to be doing well with 'em.

Obvious ones:
Dubstep (a series of "WOM"s does not electronic music make)
Angry Birds (Crush the Castle FTW)
PINGAS (NO! Piness*)
Twilight (lol, /sparkle)
Mass Effect/Dragon Age (DEATH TO EA!)
Call of Duty (brown is not a fun color)
MS Paint Adventures (shut up about it)
Social networking (whyyy...)

I also hate brand-name clothes, those douchey hats with gold stickers, and any energy drink that isn't Brawndo: The Thirst Mutilator.

IT'S LIKE A MONSTER TRUCK THAT YOU CAN POUR INTO YOUR FACE!

I hate... Angry Birds. And Halo, and Jay-Z. And Siri. Especially Siri's voice.

And I hate Glee, X-Factor, Indie pop/rock/electro, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (with the exception of "With a Little Help from My Friends"), AC/DC, Metal music, "Stairway to Heaven", being solids in pool, Tupac, Facebook games, Dubstep, record snobs, iTunes, hot weather, Holden cars, and that's all I could think of.

These are irrational hates, they all annoy me for some reason.

Just thinking of Angry Brids makes me so AAAANGRY!

Twilight, Justin Bieber, Angry Birds, and professional sports. I don't really understand the appeal of watching a bunch of guys tackle each other over an ball.

I don't hate My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, having watched the first couple episodes and based my own opinion around it, which is a resounding "ok." No, I'm fine with that.

What I hate with a passion, are those who obsess over the show, calling it the "teh greatest shite ever," constantly treating the cartoon with this "you will be assimilated" stigma. It drives me up the wall, and has completely put me off enjoying the show for what it could be. I speak of course, particularly here on the Escapist.

What could have been a genuine interest in the program has become a detest for all things pink and rainbows.

- animated avatars (no offense to those who have them, but thank God for adblock)
- every second of every minute of every reality show ever created or imagined
- Facebook and Twitter
- Time Warner Cable (OK, so they're probably not popular, but I want to see them crash and burn ala Enron, because they are evil incarnate)
- the idiotic girl in Pink from T-Mobile
- MTV, or rather the bastardization of what MTV started out as
- Angry Birds (husband loves this. Why? Whyyyy?)
- Lady Gaga (I would probably heart her if I were blind and never heard her speak out about things she knows shite about)

Lastly, I hate, with the fire of a thousand hells, Kim Kardashian and her clique for putting on a multi-million dollar sham of a wedding when some folks have been out of work for years. You deceitful heifer.
