Proper age verification? They can't even get that right with the games! Seriosuly how would they achieve that? A lot of youngsters would no doubt be sponging of their parents credit cards!
Well, if the parents fail to find that out, they kind of fail at parenting.

While I'm generally very lax about things like that, if I had any children I'd kick their asses for stealing money from me through using my credit card without asking. I mean, they just have to ask first.

OH MY GOD LOGAN THAT IS A SCARY FACE!

HE IS STARING AT MEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!

Also, XBL has an even lower aged userbase than PSN, no way this will work.

Even with age constrictions, it would tarnish the Xbox360 view as a family friendly device.

.......... the 360 is a family friendly device?

if little jimmy 12 year-old is already playing on XBL, don't you think porn would be the least of his parents worries?

also, porn on the internet is free, depending on where you go, I don't think any 360 gamer would pay for porn if they are already paying for a XBL gold account.
I am pretty sure, just we gamers harbor much hatred for those filthy pirates, there are porn lovers that feel the same way towards those who ... you know ... pirate porn.

That said, I pretty much agrees with Baby Tea's opinions; Pr0n on x-box live will make a lot of parents paying for their kiddos gold account extremely uneasy.
Who said about pirating? There are plenty of sites that survive solely on ads - which can bring some serious income if you get a lot of hits.

Yep, I'd trust that man wherever I see him. [http://www.funnypictureblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/creepy-shepard.jpg]

I saw his face, and was reminded of that.

On Topic: If Microsoft agreed to having Por on XBL, it'd make them look... Well... Desperate, to say the least. Plus, it'd be a terrible PR move.

/facepalm This guy does realize that if someone wants porn they're going to get it come hell or high water right? Age verification for porn is so pointless nowadays that its simply a way for the sites and studios to not be sued into oblivion for someone's 13yr old getting a look at his first money shot.

Age verification for porn is useless and fails because most often you're simply asked "Are you over 18?" and then given an enter or an exit button. Well lets see, if you've managed to navigate your way to their site the odds state that you're there to view human anatomy and biology in action.

Microsoft is going to say no just like Sony, and why? Because the minute the media even gets a wiff of such a deal being hammered out it will create a PR shitstorm the likes of which we haven't seen since...well damn I guess BP is our best example right now; I was going to use Enron.

"Microsoft is selling your children porn! Details at 6" Oh yeah, that's really going to help our fight against douches like Thompson and Atkinson when our gaming consoles can potentially sell porn to kiddies.

Bah we all know the Wii will be the only place for porn. It is already built to give us practice.
I was going to say they can always try the Wii, but you've said it much better.

Isn't it interesting? Porn has been credited as making or breaking almost all new media technology... except video game consoles, who actually deny it.

And yet video games are labelled the cause of all our social problems?

Hmmm...

I sure hope Microsoft rejects this. We all know proper age verification is a failure. Besides, gaming has enough enemies as it is without adding this to the mix.

Here's a fun fact, according to my XBL profile I'm actually 39 (in reality I'm not even 20).

Just based on that alone I can guarantee you that we won't be seeing porn on our Xbox's for a long time to come (at least not porn sanctioned by Microsoft anyway) because, as many have said, it would be way to easy for kids to work their way around the age limit (and, if it would be anything like the movies for sale on XBL, they'd probably just watch the free previews again and again).

If we were going to see pron on any games platform (outside of the PC) then the PS3 would have been the most likely candidate due to it's more 'mature' image.

Wonder if there would be achievements...

"Face off!" - Watch 25 bukkake clips.
"Multiplayer" - Watch 20 gang bangs.

...Seriously, is there any way this won't go horribly wrong?

MS and Sony don't even allow AO rated games, why would they allow porn? This guy obviously didn't do his homework.

Side note, who really pays for porn anymore? (Not counting your broadband subscription...)

I don't see what the problem is. It isn't any different than a kid with access to a computer going to any porn site and clicking the "Yes, I am over the legal age" button. I agree with Hirsch here, there's no reason an adult shouldn't be allowed to watch whatever they want on the devices of their choosing.

Now for me personally, why I would need to use an Xbox rather than well... just my computer to begin with, I don't know. But to each their own I guess.
