Portal 2 confirmed for Mac...

This is some super sweet news for any Mac fans out there in The Escapist. When announced I'll be pre-ordering.

After Valve's series of teaser images, it's now been revealed that their upcoming sequel Portal 2 will also be coming to the Mac. The above image comes from a series of scans from the latest issue of Gameinformer magazine which carries a cover story about the much anticipated sequel.

The original Portal game was originally released as part of the Orange Box compilation for Xbox and PC. It was a relatively short game featuring physics based puzzles in which the player manipulated two different teleporting portal entrances:


The original game was a critical success and has resulted in the full-length sequel planned this fall. Portal 2 will presumably be distributed on a Mac version of Steam which has been hinted at over the past week.

Unsurprised. My brother will be happy though, since he was just saying to me yesterday that he hoped Portal 2 would be coming to mac and it'd make him chuffed..

That is very good indeed. I use both myself, and will most probably be using it on PC, but it's good to know that I can install it on my laptop and take it with me!

And who doesn't need portal on the move?

I have to agree with this - I'm going to get it for PC anyway, but seriously, it's for the freaking Macs but not the PS3? Really?

Yeah, my laptop struggles to run the original portal (unless it looks like grey poo) and I was looking forward to playing this on the PS3... Guess I'll have to borrow a friend's computer... *sadface*

This is another nail in my buying-a-Mac coffin. It's clearly the best choice for me for the coming year, but I'm such a staunch anti-Apple nerd that I can't bear thinking about it. Portal 2 might make it easier.

It's a design computer (Mac Pro) that has had been pimped to the shit and makes short work of anything. 100 x is obviously an exaggeration, all I meant was that it's got a hell of a lot of power and it would be awesome to get some games on it. If you spend enough money you can spec up anything to be ridiculous.

EDIT: Also I'm not joking, it's really does have Diablo on it
