couldn't have said it better myself. Still don't understand why some people are acting like they cut out half the game.Sporky111 said:People seem to be getting up in arms over nothing, on both sides.
On one hand, it is just cosmetic. So it could easily be included in the game for no extra cost, it's obviously just Valve milking the cash cow.
On the other hand, it is just cosmetic. If you think it's too expensive, don't buy it. You're not missing any significant part of the game.
Could it be that you misunderstand when a game is finished? Please, please, PLEASE don't think any game developer has their games printed a right before they hit stores or any distribution outlet. Debugging the final build, among other tasks, takes somewhere around 8-12 weeks to complete (Casey Hudson, back me up [http://www.destructoid.com/bioware-s-casey-hudson-rationalizes-day-one-dlc-168047.phtml]) What developers have come to do in between that time is make extra content available for DLC.believer258 said:Day 1 DLC?
If you had the time to make it, then it ought to be included on the sixty fucking dollar disc they just released. Of course it's going to piss people off when you need to pay more money for all the functionality that should have been released at the store.
I want unlockables and expansion packs back, not fucking DLC. It's more of a headache than it's worth.
A lot of people have chosen to say 'well ahead of you'And if you're still convinced that your Portal 2 is incomplete, you're free to wait until the price becomes incomplete as well. Hell, with the extra savings, you could get some DLC with it adding up to $60! Game customization!
Clearly you don't understand what the stink is about.Echo136 said:People are making too big of a stink over a friggin hat. A DIGITAL HAT. That you cant wear in real life ever. Seriously, this is what gamers have been reduced to?
Excuse me, but what exactly is it people are being forced to pay for. Nothing. If you dont like the deal you are being given, dont buy it. Also, as I said, you are making a stink because "the hat should be included with the game". A digital hat that only certain people can get. Something you will never use in real life and 10 years from now you will never remember, and if you do, God help you. Thats what the real problem is hear. People are feeling entitlement for things that dont even effect the game one bit whether you have it or not, making this entire conversation insane.Bill Bread said:Clearly you don't understand what the stink is about.Echo136 said:People are making too big of a stink over a friggin hat. The stink is about this new thing about making people pay for shit that should be on the game disk already. When I used to buy games, they'd contain everything. I didn't need to 'buy' characters or props for games, they were published completely finished.
tl dr DLC sucks.
I think it's probably mostly indignation. "I just bought this game, now I have to pay more for all the content? RAGE!" I do understand the uproar, though. This is nothing more than a cash grab, and it's insulting to consumers.Sutter Cane said:couldn't have said it better myself. People like you are ruining gaming.Echo136 said:Excuse me, but what exactly is it people are being forced to pay for. Nothing. If you dont like the deal you are being given, dont buy it. $4.99 hardly seems micro. I wouldn't ever pay that for an in game skin that other people are going to be looking at 90% of the time. For the price of two in game skins, you can go see a movie in the theater. Hell, there are whole games you can buy on steam for that much.Hydro14 said:EDIT: Also, it's not DLC, it's a microtransaction.
I've looked at your Xbox gamer tag. You're in no position to complain about "mass popular shit".Bill Bread said:STALKER series, the Cossack series, a few others.
Proper games, not mass popular shit.
no my friend he is not...I said pretty much the same thing as him(in a different way though of course) and I don't think my comments(or any comments) on 1 solitary thread of the escapists board will ruin anythingBill Bread said:People like you are ruining gaming.Echo136 said:Excuse me, but what exactly is it people are being forced to pay for.
