I must say these must be the 2 games of the upcoming releases that I don't care about. At all. I never liked Fable, and worse, I fell victim to the hype. Portal? I can see why people may like it, but I'll pass. I was prepared for something to blow my mind for the first one, but it was just....okay, I guess. To each their own.

I stopped caring about Fable 3 the second I found out that Kinect will be involved, even if it's not that important to the game's story, I refuse to play anything even remotely related to the inevitable abomination that is Kinect.

I couldn't care any less about Fable 3 to be quite honest. And I don't trust a word Peter Molyneux says.

Portal 2 though, I'm setting myself up for fall and huge amounts of disappointment but I am hoping it'll be my game of 2011

You know even though portal didn't need a sequel, I'm still freakishly excited to play it. The only problem is it has some really high expectation to live up to. If this game isn't good enough to start world peace forever then fans will be dissapointed.

No need to declare that you are a girl gamer. I, myself, am awaiting both Fable 3 and Portal 2 with anticipation. They've built up so much hype for Portal 2 that we can only hope it will be worthwhile. Oh, and welcome to the Escapist!

Portal 2: a completely unnecessary sequel that takes an original idea and a completed story that needs no expanding, and pries open it's coffin to milk some more money. Good job.
Oh, don't be such a cynic. Portal was great, yeah, but one of the biggest complaints was that it was too short. I, amongst others, have been craving more Portal since completing the original game; I don't know about you but I'm a tard when it comes to downloading custom maps and such, so I'll be getting my fix from Portal 2. More puzzles, side characters, game mechanics and SHINY THINGS? Fuck. Yes.

As for Fable 3... Eh. I might have to agree with you there. I've played the crap out of the first Fable (and The Lost Chapters on PC) and it's still good fun every now and then. I don't own a 360, so I've only played bits and pieces of the sequel and I wasn't hugely impressed by what I saw.

You don't have to use it you know and the game won't even come with Kinect support at launch, they are talking about adding it in later. Seems like a stupid reason to stop caring about a game to me.

Mr. Molyneux has a bad rep for over ambitious game announcements and the like, but from what I've heard he's calmed down a bit, solely because he doesn't want to disappoint people as much as he did with Fable 1. Hell, I'm still not sure why everyone hated Fable 2 (that doesn't mean tell me, I don't care -.-), I loved that game, and from what I've seen, Fable 3 looks to be an improvement on that. So, yeah...

Fable 3.

I don't understand why people are looking forward to Fable 3 so much. The second was a major let down, albeit still OK.
I'm really hoping Portal 2 will be awesome, but I'm not really sure what else they can do with it.

And I don't know why people keep ragging on 'uncle Pete'.

His little white lies helps pass the time till the release.

They talk about alot of things over in Fable land, and this talk is often followed by crushing disappointment, for me Kinect was simply the straw that broke the camels back.

I am so excited for Fable 3, I think the Fable series suffers too much because Peter Molyneux is just a bit of an idiot when it comes to his announcements. If you cut out all the 'amazing moral choice systems' that never really materialise, they're just good games!

On the note of being so excited about a game you could kiss someone, at Nintendo's E3 when they showed the 3DS would have a new Paper Mario I pretty much exploded.

I've been waiting so long for a sequel to the Thousand Year Door

Sooooo
Long

If being s cynic means refusing to pay people to rehash the same ideas over and over, I will not stop being one.
If that's the case you might as well grab yourself an Atari and not bother with modern gaming. Don't use modern transport, because the wheel has been done to death by now. Forget the internet, it's just a rehash of carrier pigeons.

To be frank, it seems you're hating on Portal 2 just for being a sequel. Are you honestly telling me you've never enjoyed a sequel/prequel/spin-off more than - or at least as much as - the game that preceded it?

i cant help but have a nagging sensation that portal 2 is going to suck. maybe its that low expectations but the game is going to cross a fine line. I cannot think of something more potentially aggrivating than playing a co-op that is dependent on timing. and a 2-4 hr single player could easily get tedious and repetitive. in any case, i am taking the game's delays as a good sign, as it means they are going to continuously clean it up. something i admire valve for
