The question is:"Is it worth that extra money to buy it?"

Yes, even if it is very over-priced.

Not to me.

Seems like it's going to be too short for that much.

Well, do you have a friend to play the game with? If you want the most bang for your back I'd say that's probably mandatory. I'd say it's worth it either way. Then again, I don't ever buy games at full price usually so I always have some extra money saved up.

I got it for 20% off on because I pre-ordered the double pack on Steam:>

You can preorder the Steam version for £27 (not sure how that converts to dollars) and it comes with a free copy of Portal 1, the idea being you give it as a gift. If I were you, I would get that.

It's supposed to be twice as long as the original.
So $60 for 4 hours of (I'm hoping) genius? Even if it's brilliant that may be too short.
This was my thought. I'll probably wait for the price to drop, or for it to be offered up on the cheap during a Steam sale.

However, if there's an option for user-created levels, it might be worth that much. I don't know if that's true or not.

Last source I checked said each of the two campaigns in Portal 2 is about 6 hours long. 12 hours of portal gameplay is a damn good deal, whether you get the significantly cheaper pc version or not.
That being said, I don't take much stock in critics' words. We'll let you know whether or not it's worth it, as well as accurately gauging length after the release. As for me, I've already preordered.

I think you got the wrong price there mate: http://store.steampowered.com/app/620/

Pre-Purchase Portal 2 - Two Pack
Includes two copies of Portal 2 - Send the extra copy to a friend. Plus, pre-purchase and receive two copies of the original Portal. Send the second copy to a friend, or send both copies to friends if you already own Portal.
(60 euro)
<-I'm guessing they just change that to $ in the US

So for around $60 you actually get 4 games, 2x Portal and 2x Portal 2

I'm waiting for a significant price drop, I don't have that much disposable income at the moment. I'll certainly get it at some point.
