I dont know how many of you have played or beat Portal 2 yet but without giving any spoilers how has ur experience been thus far?

With 11 chapters and me just starting number 7 after playing for 5 hours this is turning out to have much more then Portal 1. I loved Portal 1 with all my heart but this one bites the cake =D. I have laughed hard, been scared S***less, even came to tears through almost every moment and I still have not reached what im sure is to be one of the most spectacular endings in game history.

On a side note. Did anyones copy besides mine make the voices cut off on one side?

It's good. And interesting.
Only 4 chapters through though, so I'm still intrigued. I love the new devices!
Though I don't like all the rubble. It's ruining my portal fun :(

Finished it, and I've enjoyed every second of it.

Though there's something that puzzles me, in the Extras section of Portal 2, there's a small playable portion of something called Super 8. After playing through it, it links you to a trailer of Super 8, which is a movie by JJ Abrams. Gives rise to the question, what does Valve have to do with this?

A mere two hours. Not worth full price.

That's what I got and I beat the game with no rush tactics. I even got stuck more than a couple times.
Two hours? =\

How long is the co-op mode, anyone know?

Non stop laughter. Amazing visuals and sound. Good length. Greatest boss battle/ending ever.

I really want to read this thread and contribute, but I just can't risk it in case any of the posters so far has spoiled something :p

At 2% download so far (yay for my shitty internet), once this finishes I'm gonna play the hell out of this.

Also I fucking love Steam for allowing me to get this today instead of waiting until the day after tomorrow for the EU release <3

I bought it for PS3 almost 10 hours ago. From EB games(gamestop). They got an email saying sell it now.

It took me about 7 hours. Amazing story. But I can't help but feel like the end song was a bit of a disappointment though. Though, I really didn't expect Johnathan Coulton to pull it off again.

I can't wait to play it later today. I was concerned to see it had a 4.3 average user score on Metacritic, but then I read some of the reviews, all of which turned out to be unbelivably stupid, badly written, bias critiques on the game.

Still whatever. I didn't know what a good game was until I played Portal, so I can't wait to see the series go further.

/v/ is metabombing it. ignore the metacritic score.

OP: i can't wait! my brother told me i have a copy waiting at home when i get there, so seeing this thread saying positive things makes me really impatient.

I'm really enjoying it so far. All I really wanted out of Portal 2 was more GlaDOS, and I have not been disappointed.

Being annoyed at 'pay money to use content on disc' is reasonable. Especially since
it encourages pirating

well, it's DLC, already non-essential content. so, if you don't want to pay for it, you don't need it. i've never bought DLC in my life and have still enjoyed games without it. all it encourages is that you pay for extra content if you want extra content, which is in no way unfair.

Day 1 DLC.
Not buying this. Saving to spend my money on a developer I can respect.
Id on't understand you. You care more about a developer's values than playing a good game? You're going to go and play a game that is (probably) not as good as Portal 2 because you don't like Valve? Stop caring about them and start caring about yourself.

Haven't played it yet, but this review quote has pretty much expelled any worries I had.

Portal is perfect. Portal 2 is not. It's something better than that. It's human: hot-blooded, silly, poignant, irreverent, base, ingenious and loving. It's never less than a pure video game, but it's often more, and it will no doubt stand as one of the best entertainments in any medium at the end of this year. It's a masterpiece.
